Dawn is a perfectionist; Alaina might have been 1 minute late for practice and Dawn told her she couldn't play tonight. Dawn is a genius because Alaina will now come out fired up for UCONN on Monday night.

You remember when you were that age? Did you ever think you could pull something over on an adult like a teacher, coach or parent. Haha I did usually think that and got caight more than getting away with it.

to do because they'd been there and knew what I needed to do.

Cockhorn, in another thread, did you also suggest that maybe she cut a class?
Give Coach Staley's remark about "it wasn't anything any other student hasn't done" makes me think it's more likely that she had an "unexcused" class absence, as most students wouldn't have a basketball practice to be late for anyway.
Whatever the actual reason, it apparently was relatively minor given that it was for only one game, and that she did sit on the bench in Athens.
Yep, her court absence did show the team's depth.
