One question I've seen from our valued subscribers here at GamecockCentral.com is this: now that Gunner Stockton is in the boat for the 2022 class, what does it mean for that cycle? Will other prospects want to follow? Did it capture the attention of any big-timers early?
The answer, at least for that last question, is yes. Here's a quick batch of notes for GC subscribers.
*** Myrtle Beach's Adam Randall is a significant priority for the 2022 class, and he was one from the cycle that made it known via social media that he saw Stockton's pledge to the Gamecocks.
"That guy is a monster," Randall said. "It would be a blessing to play with him."
Seems like just a matter of time before those parties make a connection.
*** Four-star running back Emmanuel Henderson out of Alabama told GamecockCentral.com that he also took notice of Stockton's pledge, even adding that he and Stockton talk from time to time.
There are several backs to watch for the Gamecocks in the '22 class, but Henderson is certainly one in which there seems to be mutual interest.
Henderson said that he does pay attention to where other prospects in his class are committing and that he considers it "a little bit" within his own recruitment.
*** South Carolina was one of the early offers for south Florida's Daughtry Richardson, who has raved about offensive line coach Eric Wolford to us.
It's early, but the Gamecocks seem to be out in front here for the moment. Richardson was another prospect from the '22 class that saw Stockton's commitment on social media and was intrigued, telling us on Thursday night that he wants to speak with Stockton to get more insight into why he picked Columbia as his future home.
