It's become (trolling by enemy camps) a common practice in the Rivals network - has to be - just visit the Rivals 'Open Forums' in the SEC and Big 10 or Big12. The posting traffic on the vast majority of sites has dwindled to nearly zero on their free forums. Two exceptions are Georgia (Dawg Chat) and South Carolina (FGF).

recruting has them in a tizzy. They see they're going to have to fight for players from here on out, and they've already lost a couple players to us.

I have a different theory on some of the "necro-bumping." Since there has been a shift in moderating to simply nuke an entire thread rather than lock it, some of the fake handles are likely S.Car fans trying to rid the board of some really bad takes from the past several years, i.e. Clemson is backsliding, cannot recruit at a high-level (insert year), won't win 7 games (insert year), will never win a National Championship, and the like...
I am sure some are Clemson fans, but given that the threads are now always removed, it is counter-intuitive to blame it all on those folks. JMHO TIFWIW

How do you know the threads are being deleted? I've never taken the time to search for them.
They're still there and still not fond of different opinions. There are a few that comment on every thread, and bicker back and forth about everything.
The contempt in their post had me grouping them with some Jawja fans I met. I didn't want to take part any discussion where Gamecock posters were eating their own.

Clemdent.........I will say you have been a good poster. You make good points and any subtle jabs you take at SC are all in good natured ribbing. That's the way it should be. Don't get me wrong, I want to beat Clemson in every sport all the time. I pull against Clemson in every game they play (unless it was Ohio State). But my father and two older brothers went to Clemson, and so did many of my good friends. We have fun with the rivalry as it should be.

I was always suspicious that it was one of the tater regulars that was creating new accounts and dredging up old threads. I mean, they know they’re going to be here anyway so why not create some drama to watch the reaction.
I can’t honestly say here’s a Clem poster on this board I trust any further than I could kick him. In all my years posting here Clemdent is probably the highest regarded, but he’s fairly new still. The others you mentioned were ok most of the time but would eventually show their thin-skin and rant.
