I know not many of you care for mixed martial arts, but this would have been such a welcome distraction. MMA and boxing are uniquely positioned to navigate around the pandemic and social distancing requirements because you only have two live participants at a time, plus the referee and production staff. My understanding is that all staff and fighters had been quarantined and tested, and the UFC was ready to go without an audience. ESPN and Disney pulled the plug after Senator Feinstein from California pissed and moaned about it. Give me back my sports, and my country!
