This is from ESPN’s bowl game projections:

TaxSlayer Gator Bowl: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. South Carolina Gamecocks
TIAA Bank Field (Jacksonville, Florida)

This feels like a fairly big game for Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman, who lost his debut in the Fiesta Bowl last year. After starting quarterback Drew Pyne entered the transfer portal, the Irish could turn to opening game QB1 Tyler Buchner, who is back from injury, or reserves Steve Angeli and Ron Powlus III. South Carolina comes in hot after wins over Tennessee and Clemson, and both squads excel on special teams. It's hard to pick against Shane Beamer's crew right now, and they win on a field goal.

Prediction: South Carolina 27, Notre Dame 25

Yep — I remember how every one of the Gameday panel picked Clemson w/o hesitation. Herbstreit even chuckled when he made his Clemson pick.
I believe his son plays for Clemson so I believe that he is definitely all in

Kiss of death right there.

Reminds me of the old days when you knew you had a lock on losing if either Sports Illustrated or Playboy ranked your team or picked them to win.

Gotta remember, these prognosticators don't get paid to make correct guesses but rather, are paid to stir interest by making semi-controversial comments.
