They end up quoting their Twitter rabbit hole content as if it’s gospel. Experts on every topic. 👍. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t EVERY topic. Relentless . I give them that.
I am an expert on this topic. Hold on while I find my twatter reference.
So don't follow them. That was easy. Or do you like to shut down opinions that are different from yours? That's what it sounds like. There are currently 2 threads that should be shut down as we speak and probably 1 more.
These threads end up rapidly descend into nothing more than trading insults, and both sides are very misinformed on basic historical facts.
Only if momma said itIn the year 2022, would much prefer a Twitter post directly from the source versus a mainstream media article dripping in opinion.
To the Twitter critics, where do you get information that you feel you can trust?

Obviously you missed this line from my original post.
I think a sports board ought to be a sports board - and/or have a separate page for more controversial topics related to current events.

BINGO!!!!!I think a sports board ought to be a sports board - and/or have a separate page for more controversial topics related to current events.
Don't think that's a great comparison but I have had the fortune, or misfortune to have actually witnessed the latter. Oh my crazy brother!BINGO!!!!!
Really don't know why that cannot be arranged.
Bringing political diatribes on to a sports board is like inviting a "lady of the evening" to dinner with the family.
I edited my post after to your post. Maybe the edited comment is a better comparison.Don't think that's a great comparison but I have had the fortune, or misfortune to have actually witnessed the latter. Oh my crazy brother!
Yes, we were most uncomfortable, she was most uncomfortable, he was totally comfortable.PS: we all have crazy relatives.

You are cracking me up , GJ.And it was at the country club no less.
See, this wasn’t sports related but you're having a good time? You are cracking me up , GJ.
Did you ever retire? I got the impression you are old enough, but hesitant.See, this wasn’t sports related but you're having a good time?
I was looking forward to working well into my 70's because I have so much fun doing what I do, more fun then playing golf or whatever. I'm only 64 but was basically forced to retire when my company went out of business. I did manage to find another job making more money and they were happy to have me but required me to get the vaccine. I just can't do that even though everybody's telling me just do it, they think I'm crazy. Been living back in Texas for 15 years and I love Texas, grew up out west in Odessa until the 3rd grade. We never did sell our home in South Carolina. Rented it out so someone else payed the mortgage plus a little more. We looked at it as our life raft in case worse came to worse. We just sold our little house here in Fort Worth for $306,600 dollars and moving back to where I lived for 26 years. I was there for the early Spurrier years and spent a thanksgiving visit watching the 1st of the five straight against you know who. Lived in the upstate, tiger country, and took a beating from my coworkers for years. Wished I could have given them hell for 5 years but... Dad still has season tickets but I'm sure I'll have to drive. The start of our new/old life. I guess not working will seem like everyday is Saturday. We'll see how it goes. Might do some contract work.Did you ever retire? I got the impression you are old enough, but hesitant.
Take care of yourself GJ. Bump. For the relentless. Righteous ones. WOW. SMH.
There's only really two active threads on this board. If you look at ON3 activity, news threads are more popular than sports. Really believe they should try subcategories on Scoop and see what happens.
Multiple sports forum websites on the Gamecocks can create graveyards in 2022. Sports just isn't as popular as it used to be and they need new user traffic.

Very true. It's also a dead period.
Come summer, there will be plenty of threads on some boards about the upcoming season. And by August it'll be full tilt again.
Totally agree. If it's a bloodbath, kill the thread. Otherwise, create an environment for people to connect and agree/disagree. It's really easy to bypass a topic you don't like. Plus, you have the ability mute and block. Let it roll. The thing I never understand about this board- and any others-
if people are coming to your free board- and posting- let them post.
Why delete or lock topics that are popular and drive traffic? Are they lying to themselves and pretending people don't talk about these topics?
If you want people to click on ads and you sell that audience to your potential customers, why harm or cut down on your potential audience by deleting or banning popular political or current even topics? It seems illogical.
