Final Week in Recruiting

It looks like we have four players that we are focusing on. What are your thoughts on each?

Deuron (He commits tonight and I think we may get him)
Pellage (This appears to be a real toss-up right now with us and Florida--I hope he sticks with us and I think he will)
Key (I think we get him in the end--he's been enjoying the attention)
Arnette (With Davis flipping from Ohio St to AU, this one just swung in the Buckeye's favor--really sucks this late)

Anyone else out there that I've not considered?

I thought Spurrier visited Pellage and locked him up.

Don't see Key or Arnette ending up here. Key to Auburn, not sure about Arnette, but don't like our chances. As talented as Key might be, I won't be upset if he heads elsewhere.

SC loses Key, he will haunt them on the field for years, I believe he will be that good.... If Key goes elsewhere, it will be the biggest loss of all the other signees, except Lewis and even Lewis will have less years to play at SC than Key

In the end, I think SC gets Key....SC has to get Key to make your recruiting year,

Obviously the coaches agree with you and feel the way you do or they would have passed on him the second time he decommitted.

Deuron has committed.
Pellage seems to have helped recruit Deuron...so I think he will be here as well.

Has Key committed to anyone else? Ever? He's a toss up.


Arnette is the other one I hope we get. We have a lot of DEs coming in even though Key would have a chance to be one of the better ones...I think we need Arnette's ability to defend 1-on-1.


We have 30 players committed so far...if we hold on to all of them, we have a chance to turn things around REALLY QUICKLY...and a lot of the freshmen (OL / DL / DB) have a chance of playing a LOT, if not starting...

I agree a lot of DL and DBs could play for us as freshman, but I sure hope the OL don't have to! We have LOADS of talent and experience coming back on the OL, all the freshmen should be given the time they need to get bigger, stronger and better before they are asked to block SEC DL!

This is a STRONG class that covers all of our needs regardless of what happens with these last 2-3 kids. It would be great to get a clean sweep and keep Pellage and Arnette, get Key to solidify for us... But if it goes the wrong way with all three, we still have a high impact group of freshmen who will come in and help our tem from day one! Recruiting is a fickle bitch and worrying over every whim of a HS kid can drive you nuts... Just trust we are in good hands and the coaches know they have some fixing to do!
