At the tender age of 70 years and counting, I find myself in a constant state of amazement and dismay at the amount of caustic judgement and acidic anger displayed on this board. There is enough to eat through lead pipes. There is no wonder we are losing recruits. The attitude displayed on this board is part of the reason and the recruits will tell you that. Who would want to play for such a fickle crowd? I fear many of you have stopped taking your meds and have resorted to self treatment of some sick kind. If one of my children had talked and acted like many on this board, I will have administered treatment from the peach tree limbs found in the back yard to their back sides. If one of my employees had acted this way, I would have fired them on the spot. Where is the sanity and maturity that is supposed to accompany the generation that is interacting on this board??

I will get torched for this, but I, for one, am grateful to have a coaching staff and administration that is implementing maturity and integrity in their demeanor and decisions regarding the life of the coaches and their families on staff and this program. If they made decisions as recommended on this website, my University of South Carolina would be described as the most chaotic and largest lunatic asylum in the country. Who would ever want to come and work here??

Come on guys.......get a life, take a step back from the ledge, the brink and re-evaluate your priorities in life. This is not life and death issues we are dealing with here. It is just football and that is all. Enjoy the day and life itself, your family, your dog. Take a walk and get some fresh air right now before it's too late. It all comes down to this. I want the Gamecocks to win the SEC in FOOTBALL!!!!!! I would trade every championship in every sport we've ever had, for an SEC Championship and an opportunity to play for the NC. I'm not 70, but I'm older than 35 and I'm afraid I won't see any more success in my lifetime. I'm flat out disappointed, I love college football and we are a football school. You're calling out fans who take it too seriously, but we went 33-6 in 3 seasons and didn't capitalize on it. We're paying Spurrier 4 million a year!!! That is no joke. It's serious business and I think we deserve better.

I am not going to "blast you" or "torch you" because I respect my elders, but the coaches haves been screwing up on the job. Including the big boss. It's not a life or death issue, but part of being a Gamecock football fan is being absolutely sick of ineptitude because that is what we've been force fed for decades and just when we have a few years respite from it and things are looking on the upswings coaching ineptitude and utter lack of common sense strikes again. If you want to live and breath walking the walks in the park with your dog and a pepsi, have at it, but some on here live and breathe Gamecock sports. Sorry if that bothers you, but that is what matters to me. Not food or or nature or my family which have their own interests that bore me. And trust me I am enjoying the success of our WBB team, and the improvment in my opinion of our MBB team, and I am looking forward to baseball and softball. I care about that all the teams.

The greatest post by an OP in years.

My son spent 4-years as an athlete at USC. If he had read anything near what has been posted here in the past 5-6 months, he too would have uncommitted and moved on to another one of the many offers he was fortunate to have received. He would have never wanted to be exposed to the cesspool that goes on here everyday.

Pathetic on a lot of you that really are USC diehards, AND even more disturbing that the MODs don't identify and eliminate the non-Gamecocks supporter who shows up and sets fire to the site and leave to wait for another opportunity.

Shame on all of you that you don't appreciate the coaching staff and administrative staff we have in place at USC. Rather than asking for the coaches to leave or be fired, why don't you leave and give the real Gamecocks their board back so we can enjoy all of our sports teams.

I think the message you are trying to convey is not the concerns many have over the status of the football team, but how they are expressing those concerns.

My guess is that the "2-3 years more" comment SOS made caught Ray by surprise and led to a "sit-down" in which the football program's future and how to publicly speak about it were discussed between the two of them.

I do feel sorry for those so obsessed with football that no other sport matters. Not, IMO, the sign of a true Gamecock fan.
