Former FSU mascot fatally stabbed in argument over gumbo spice

Notwithstanding the likelihood of severe mental illness, the killer had other issues. You don't kill someone simply over the amount of hot pepper put into an okra gumbo - there were other issues which drove the perpetrator to commit this horrible act, and I don't mean just a personal dislike or job rivalry between the two parties.

This is so screwed up on so many levels. Killing somebody because of pepper? An FSU grad working at a seafood market? I can't understand why a college grad would be 'slingin' gumbo" at a seafood restaurant in Florida. I'll skip my Florida vacation this year too.

That is just how the argument started. That is not the reason for deciding to stab him. Anger issues. I am sure it escalated and names started being thrown around maybe some mothers were being insulted.

Yeah, I don't understand that charge, I would have thought it would be 2nd degree murder.

The reason he was slinging hash (or gumbo) is that he was an FSU grad. It was either that or work for Publix grocery store and get free crab legs. Sad comment on our society as a whole.
