That's a school record by a large margin. I hate it for our guys, rooting my heart out for my Gamecocks.

Yeah right... Rooting for them to lose so you can trash the coaches on the Internet. Keep on trollin...

Wrong. I've previously had year-long streaks where I didn't miss a Gamecock hoops home game. I've traveled to multiple SEC tourneys, gone to Gamecock road games, attended Gamecock early season tournaments (including the Charleston Classic this year). I've invested a lot of time and energy in Gamecock hoops, and I would never, ever, under any circumstances root for a Gamecock loss.

I see the usual "You're a Tater" posters are out. OP presented facts and their opinion. The same OP has opted in on many Gamecocks topics and threads. Yet, they're a tater for a dissenting opinion.

I have not been a Frank Martin Basher nor a Gregg Marshall dreamer... However at some point this Martin experiment has to be addressed. This team is not worthy of NIT right now..

I never said he was a tater, just said he was a TROLL. He doesn't come right out and TELL PEOPLE he is a troll in his screen name like YOU DO, he just comes to Internet forums to rip our coaches every time something bad happens and ai cannot recall a single positive thing he has had to say. I don't have a clue who you guys root for, but from the way you post it seems all you root for is something negative to happen to USC so you can attack the coaches or other fans. So, please, why don't you Keep on trollin too "agnostic Troll cock"....

add # 20 to the long list of road losses come Saturday.

Last night's game was UGLY, UGLY, UGLY.

Arkansas did what they wanted.

Funny you never post about the basketball team when they win a game. just sayin
They don'r win very many. We are on pace to have 3 of the worst seasons in SEC history in the past 4 years.

It is mostly Hyman;s fault, the Horn but Martin is starting to have to own some of this mess too.

Funny, I posted in the thread about the Georgia game. Guess you missed that one. Also, you had no problems commenting when I replied in another thread about Martin and us missing on GM.

Really don't need to post much about the men's bball team. It's another year of threads about moral victories and Martin excuses. Thoughts of NCAA invites once whispered here, gone. Thoughts of NIT, gone. Juniors and sophomores who still play like undisciplined and talentless freshmen.

we are way better than 2 years ago. Martin does have talent. We only had 8 players last night due to injury's + foul trouble all night.

What part of the mess should he own?
Horn not recruiting anyone good enough to be a Sr on this team?
The hip injury that the 6'6" scoring wing he recruited got in the preseason ?
The injury to Shepard or Thompson getting in such legal trouble that we had to part ways?
I'm all for holding him accountable but not at the expense of being reasonable.

Ummm...that was a home game. I assume the OP is talking about road games--which there is nothing but truth; come on Frank, I didn't expect to make the NCAA's this year; but in year 3 I assumed we would be better than 2-7 after the first half of the SEC slate. Maybe we'll get hot the second half of conference play. You have to start winning games sooner or later. That includes road games as well.

Didn't we win at Mississippi State at the very end of last season? If so, then we have not lost 19 consecutive SEC road games.

EDIT: Yes, went and checked. We won at Miss State in the last regular season game of last year.

Coach Martin was suspended for that game, thus the title of the thread "Frank Martin's 19th Consecutive SEC Road Loss."

I'll be the first to admit that losing 19 straight road games is completely unacceptable. I think we'll break that streak this season, but that kind of thing cant continue and I don't think it will.
All of that said, I think a lot of our fans need to come to grips with the sad fact that there is not a quick fix for our basketball program. Our basketball program has just about the least tradition of any basketball program in the SEC. Additionally, we're in the considerable shadow of the Tarheel state. We've had no identity as a program since the extremely distant McGuire era, and Horn took a mediocre program and made it a bad one. I mean, the program inherited by Frank Martin was a program that was essentially coming off the death penalty. Oh, the NCAA didnnt officially penalize us, but for all intents and purpose, we were coming off the death penalty.

Point being is that Martin inherited a program with barely any tradition that was absolutely gutted by the previous staff. He inherited the kind of program that even a good coach could lose 19 straight SEC road games coming in.

Considering the dumpster fire he inherited, and considering USC's total lack of basketball tradition, I can't think clearly about the problems and lay them at Martin's feet just yet. You just can't turn around a program that has been down as long as this one in a couple of years. But I do expect significant improvement next year. in his fourth year then it will be time for the program to be on Frank's watch. And he is getting better players as evidenced by the Dozier committment. That should go a long way towards improving things. Provided Frank doesn't do something stupid like saying he only plans to coach another couple of years and Dozier changes his mind.
