( Just for the record: I am an unabashed ML fan) First, go and watch his freshman highlights again. A FRESHMAN putting that kind of punishment on UGA and UF like he did not even care about history and reputation. He destroyed those games. His career stats vs. games played is unbelievable. Love that I am reading that he is coaching up the RB's off the field. And now he's back helping to set the culture off the field.

I know y'all know how much of a grind the season is and attitude and perspective during the year is so, so critical for success; he will bring that. Just following what I am reading in the press and what he puts out regularly on twitter, its these intangible pieces that, I think, will be a huge boost this year. Brilliant hire and I would not be the least bit surprised if he was the HC for us in 15 years.

I'll say again he would have been in New York for the Heisman awards had he been able to avoid injury and we would have had the second rb to win the Heisman Award.

Yeah, but Connor quit coaching at Furman and took a job in the business world.

He did and I was surprised to see that happen. I dont know Shaw personally but everything I hear makes it sound like this guy was destined to be a coach. This business thing could be somethat that he needs to dedicate time to now to make a chunk of change. I’d imagine that’s the case. But if what people say is true I bet he’s on the sidelines somewhere in 3-5 years.

Lattimore was a great hire and I believe we’ll land many recruits now we wouldn’t have gotten without him. Life after football is a huge issue for College players as well as NFL players. Who better to talk about that than Marcus Lattimore? I think parents of recruits will want to send their sons to play at a place where Marcus is overseeing that area of development for their child.

Marcus's 3 pillar program for development is really impressive. I was fortunate to get to hear him speak about it. I'm sure that's making a great impression on parents too.

Bobby Bentley was on the radio the other day talking about some of the stuff Lattimore is teaching the current guys in the film room, including how to do his famous "submarine" move. So glad we have him on staff and around the program

Lattimore is a truly valuable resource for USC to have. So glad he is involved with the program.
As far as Shaw, who knows? Yea, his dad was a coach, and everything seemed to point to him coaching. If he does, one figures that his time will come no matter what type of lesser jobs he may have. Assistants aren't exactly getting rich coaching at Furman. Maybe he wanted to get into a situation where he could make some real good money and then go back to coaching when a position at a Power 5 type program presents itself. Or as weird as it seems, maybe he just didn't enjoy the coaching side like he thought he would. Often you see some of the best players can't adjust to being a coach very well.

I may misunderstand, but i swear this past Saturday on the CBS Sports radio show in the morning, Marcus from south Carolina called in like a normal listener and said something, and host didn't know it was the Marcus Lattimore, did anyone else catch that or did i imagine or misunderstand the whole thing. I caught the tail end.

From all the commercials i know what Marcus sounds like and the guy sounded like Lattimore.

Hope it’s not 30 years before we get another.
