If coaching doesn’t matter, why does the most talented team win every time?

It’s kind of like NASCAR. The best car on the track still has to have someone to drive it. And a car that doesn’t handle well or lacks a little power can still win if the driver is better than the others.

It seems that more “not power 5 schools” are beating the P5 schools more each year since App State beat Michigan 15 or so years ago. No doubt, the P5 schools are more talented. What’s the difference in those games? Some of it has to be coaching.

Coaching matters. But, even the best coaches will look mediocre with crap talent. But a mediocre coach can look like a god with 5 star talent all over. Look at Dabo, he’s a dummy. Prime example. He can recruit and make a good sales pitch. He doesn’t know a post from a curl route.
