The NCAA contact period (which allows coaches to be on the road at high schools) comes to a close on Saturday and the Gamecocks entire staff is on the road for one final day of trips today before returning to Columbia to start official visits tonight and for another junior day tomorrow.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, defensive coordinator Clayton White, defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, EDGEs coach Sterling Lucas and special teams coordinator Pete Lembo are all scheduled to be in the DMV today visiting schools.
That entire crew will hit DeMatha, St. John's, Archbishop Carroll and Gonzaga.
Archbishop is home to 2023 four-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor, who might be the most athletic prospect in the entire country (see below).
Gonzaga is home to 2023 three-star OL Evan Link and Dematha is home to 2023 four--star DL Jason Moore.
All three have an offer from South Carolina and you can never rule out more offers going out.
All of those coaches, minus Lucas, are also set to hit Good Counsel, while Lucas will check in on Rock Creek Christian and CH Flowers.
At Flowers, the Gamecocks have an offer our to 2024 DB Braydon Lee, but I imagine Lucas is also checking in on 2023 four-star DE Desmond Umeozulu, who isn't listed with a South Carolina offer yet in our database but is a big time prospect.
Rock Creek also has a 2023 three-star DE named Anthony Little that I'm sure he'll check in on.
** South Carolina offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is scheduled to hit Camden, Hartsville, Chester, Indian Land and Cheraw today.
Camden is, of course, home to big-time DL target Xzavier McLeod and Satterfield will be joined on that stop by defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey.
** Offensive line coach Greg Adkins will also be in South Carolina. He'll check in on Newberry, Union County, Gaffney, King's Mountain and Forest View.
** Wide receivers coach Justin Stepp is scheduled to drop by Chapman (shoutout Deebo), Powdersville, Daniel, Seneca and TL Hanna.
Powdersville is home to a couple of intriguing 2023 three-star prospects in LB Jalen Rambert and ATH Thomas Williams, who could be a running back or defensive back at the next level. Carolina hasn't offered either yet.
** Montario Hardesty is set to check in on his in-state territory with stops at Oceanside Collegiate, Wando, Phillip Simmons, Fort Dorchester and Goose Creek.
Oceanside is home to 2023 four-star OL Monroe Freeling, 2023 RB Vaughn Blue and 2024 kicker Coleman Franzone.
Philip Simmons is home to intriguing 2024 WR/DB Troy Stevenson who has some early SEC offers.
** In addition to the Camden stop mentioned above, Jimmy Lindsey will spend most of the day checking in on North Carolina schools, Grimsley, Salisbury, A.L. Brown, Cox Mill and Olympic.
** South Carolina tight ends coach Erik Kimrey will round out the week with stops at Georgia schools, Collins Hill, North Gwinnett, Lanier, Mill Creek, Hebron Christian and Dacula.
Collins Hill is home to 2023 four-star TE Ethan Davis, a Tennessee commit.
