If you haven't been to a Fireflies game, it's a great atmosphere. One day they will probably have torn down all the remnants of the old State Hospital, but right now it has to be one of the most unique settings in minor league baseball. Beautiful new stadium here, shot out mental hospital there. Walk the ancient college campus like grounds, then stop at Starbucks and REI on your way out.

I heard that they are planning on rebuilding the Babcock Building that burned. Hopefully not with heart pine this time.

This is an Alumni Association thing, particularly the Columbia chapter. Seen anything on that?
(It's promoted by Alumni Assn, but you don't have to be a member, or even be an alum, to attend. Intended for alumni as well as supporters/fans.)

I've not seen anything at all. It's not even listed on the Alumni Association Events page.
Damn. It's so hard to hit every detail on these things.
I know it was in the last Alumni Association email that went out. It's been plugged on ColaGamecocks social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook.) I posted it on here and sent to all my friends. It does look it's missing from this page however:

It's time to get over it man. I'm USC alumni, degree in Communications, work here now. South Carolina native, born and bred. UofSC helps us from a national standpoint. It's only meant to be used in electronic communications -- the web is a big place and we want our identity staked out.

The campaigns are cohesive and thought out. They get input from people in SC but also beyond. We have a lot of audiences we serve. All the new banners I see on campus right now say "South Carolina." It's about positioning yourself in a crowded marketplace. When we say our name, we want people to know who we mean.

I admit. I probably missed it in the email. And I get so many pings from Social Media that many times I just clear them without looking at them closely.Damn. It's so hard to hit every detail on these things.

But, it really should have been on the Alumni Association main events page. That's where I look for a lot of stuff because of the aforementioned reasons.

That's probably it. And it is surprising that they have an event the same night. Oh well. My next thing will probably be the Fall Sports Preview August 19. I'm trying to get ready for vacation in 11 days, so...
Winning consecutive national football championships would help recover the USC from the directional school in CA. We had it first. Don’t give up, don’t ever give up. Please tell us how it helps.
