So 3-3 against regional teams this early in the season means nothing--especially considering what we lost? You expect to go undefeated I suppose. You seem to be one of those people who would win 20 million in the lottery and complain it wasn't 21 million.

I expect to win series. That's it & that's all. Losing a series to Clem is just the latest in a 3 year slide. It will continue, I'm afraid.

If losing a series to a regional team is considered a slide then please find how many years we won all series and won them against other regional teams? Forget the frustration of it being Clemson because if you are using that logic then last year was no slide because we swept them.

Great win for the Gamecocks.. Glad to see the team respond. It case you didn't already know that is why you play mid week games.. To get better.. To try new things.. To get other players some game time experience.. I would think 99% of the poster on here would already know this little fact, but looks like there are few that don't..

Want to echo your thoughts. My minimal expectations each year is 38 regular season wins. say 20-6 OOC and 18-12 SEC...that is my baseline, if the team begins to struggle to get to that plateau then IMO its worrisome. And that will get us to the regionals every year. And with a tad more success Supers and Beyond.

I wish people would discuss legit concerns versus...team is sliding and Holbrook stinks mentality. If posters are concerned what are the concerns. You must stat with roster/recruiting if you believe we are on some downward spiral. And second would be Holbrook in game/lineup management.

But the sky is falling mentality with no actual reason other than "we lost to Maryland" or "we lost to Clemson". Teams lose in baseball all the time....Florida lost to CoC last year at home. It happens, Vandy has puked numerous times as a favorite but won it all last year. Baseball is a funny game and it is especially funny in short series/one game situations. Mike Martin is a great college coach and has zero national titles to his name but yet has run the most consistent program for over 30 plus years.
