Well they were ranked #21 themselves, and have been a top program in women's college soccer for years now. But I'm guessing your shock was over the 6 goals being scored? We haven't been a great offensive program under the Smiths since they took over - more of a great defensive team that shuts down opposing offenses. But that's still a great output for the team: almost 25% of the total goals the team has scored thus far this season, through 17 matches....
In their previous match, the Gamecocks tied Texas A&M 1-1, but had 15 shots for the match - compared to only 5 for the Aggies - and 10 on goal. They just couldn't get into the net, but they are attacking offensively.....

This match was over in the first half when South Carolina scored three goals within five minutes. O'Rourke and the younger Zullomeister each had a brace in the game. When was the last time that two South Carolina players had a brace in the same game?
I don't really think this was an upset. South Carolina can beat any team in the league with the exception of Alabama.
