I was stunned to read this. What did happen? He was far and away our most active, most aggressive, most consistent guy on the D-Line last year. All the new guys notwithstanding, I think this is a huge loss for us.

It is #44 DE Gerald Dixon. There has been pretty much nothing about it in the media, so it's very confusing. Cloninger tweeted some vague reference to his leg injury he suffered way back as a freshman, but that can't be it as Gerald has played and started games since then. It's very mystifying....
