Great day of baseball against a very good team....

And Widener locking it down in the later innings of the final game. **

GOCOCKS! BEATVANDY! BEATGA! BEATFU!

CofC is a VERY good team but we have to hope we are, too, and we need to WIN this series at home bigtime!! BIG series!!

Great to see these boys bounce back and win 2 today, and against a solid CofC team. Also nice to see them score runners later in game 2. Batting is where we need the most improvement and it appears we have some new players that can hit. Hopefully today was just a preview of what we'll see this season. And BTW, no errors in 3 games...that's definitely a good sign.

But don't expect to see a lot of threads or 50-100 responses to a thread about it. The only threads you see that kind of energy on this board is when a team loses.

Some of the so called fans on here don't think any team we play is a good team. However, those that follow college baseball know how good C of C is. Aaron Fitt from D1 baseball said C of C is probably the best mid-major baseball team in the country right now. They were two 1-0 losses from being in the CWS last year with pretty much everyone from that team back this year.

Baseball is a fickle sport, and probably the only major sport where smaller schools are often on a similar playing field as larger schools. This is due to the limited number of schollys available and that mlb has a history of finding quality players in all types of schools. It isn't as important to play D1 baseball as it is in football or basketball.

This reminds me of Liberty a couple years back when we met them in our Regional... We took 2 out of 3 games against Liberty just like we did against C of C...
