Why does the ACC insist on holding their tourney in Greensboro. With all the home towns of schools in the ACC seems they would want a more tourist friendly town than Greensboro. I guess the North Carolina schools will always get what they want regardless of expantion.

Now Nashville that's a fun town.

Pretty simple. Greensboro is in the center of the footprint of the conference. And the arena seats over 20K. Add to that the fact that half the conference is within driving distance. Add to that the history. It should always stay there. As for the SEC, it should always be in Atlanta as far as I am concerned.

Same reason the SEC baseball tournament is always in Hoover. Nashville has a new AAA park, wouldn't mind seeing the baseball tournament there.

The ACC is moving their tourney around a lot over the next five years. It goes to DC next year, and then will be in the Barclays center in Brooklyn several times.

I think the plan is to have the ACCT in Greensboro once every five years.

Nicotine numb nuts rule. Always have. Always will. I wonder how long this love fest with the new schools, especially ones in the NE will last. SYR on probations, PItt will follow soon. North Carolina tarholes will finally run out of ass kisses for the ncaa and they will join the crimanoles, who will get theirs pretty soon.

Could not happen to a nicer bunch.

Or midwest or southwest? TV markets rule conference expansion, plain and simple. Although the NE schools have half the passion for college sports as the schools in the south, the bottom line is these schools are in heavily populated parts of the country. More eyeballs = more tv sets, which = more revenue to the schools.

Btw, if Pitt is due for upcoming sanctions, their cheating hasn't been too effective. My guess is you are just spouting off without any facts.

Are you watching the ACC title game right now? It's in Greensboro so UNC and Duke can have a home floor every year.

Simple answer - protects Duke and UNC...Atlanta (or Catlanta) was a great venue , easy for all the SEC schools to travel to as well as provided a super environment...unless you ( not the OP) are there for the country music as well.

Thing I have always wondered about and I know Vandy's arena was grandfathered in , but how many more years will that floor be allowed to be played on..has nothing to do with the current SEC venue , but just a question

lol at anyone thinking Duke gets an adv playing in Greensboro. The bandwagon Durham fans can't/don't travel and their alums go back to NY/NJ. When this tourny starts spending more years in NYC/Brooklyn, then Duke will reap the benefits of a home crowd.

G'boro benefits UNC and NCSU, and to some degree Wake. VT, UVa and Clem all can get there in a few hrs drive, but will only do so if their team is any good.
