The Gamecocks rank second in the SEC in opposing batting average as well as third in ERA and strikeouts. South Carolina’s 2.90 ERA in SEC games leads the conference. The Gamecocks have 162 strikeouts in 164.2 innings during conference play. During the Florida series, USC hurlers allowed just five runs in the first 24 innings to Gator hitters until the untimely eight-inning grand slam propelled UF to a 7-5 win on Saturday.

they do but you still have to score more runs than your opponent. I bet we don't average the 2.9 runs per 9 innings our pitchers are giving up. Sad but true.

That's basically it. There has to be a bare minimum of offensive stats to confirm that old saying.
