Since the founding of our country? Granted, some generations moved the needle much more than others but this seems to me anyway about right. It’s looking more and more like our once wonderful country is about to collapse Thoughts?

Heard this when I was a teenager. Hippies and stuff. Communist in Hollywood the McCarthy years, socialist during Vietnam, etc

There does seem to be a hostile element in some of these protesters. If they don't like something, well hell they'll just pull it, or tear it down. None of them seem to have jobs? I don't have the time to spend days and nights on end 'parked' in front of buildings or monuments bitching, screaming, and desecrating things they disapprove of.

Really is quite a spectacle to see statues of Stonewall Jackson/Robert E Lee being targeted, and then Lincoln, the Massachusetts 54th, and other Northern/USA heroes TARGETED???

No rhyme nor reason, just attack US History. Everyone was a racist, or so this crowd has deemed our ancestors? Sure some were, but over 600,000 Americans died trying to protect and or end slavery! My God what a sacrifice they made, only to be vilified by these 'kids'!

No such thing as education anymore with the exception of 2 year Technical schools. 95% of universities are just continued programming sites for the brick in the wall crew.
What makes the 2 Year Technical Schools any different? With the exception of the Automotive Mechanic Instructors, you must have an advanced degree to teach there as well. This fear and bashing of education must stop. Part of the reason why we are doing such a poor job managing this health crisis. We want experts to tell us what we want to hear instead of listening. It's like me arguing with a mechanic when he says that I need a new alternator.

No, there is no need to stop bashing the education system. It is not working, particularly in higher education. It is either indoctrinating kids or giving them absolutely useless degrees and putting them in debt for life. Professors and universities are the single most misdirected entities in this country. Not far behind is the media and entertainment elite.

There is typically a erudite elite that inspires or leads the poor into revolutions that seem like such a great idea, only to end in disaster.

I'm incredulous at the admonition "this must stop." We have a country of people who not only tell you what they think, which we all do, but now we have a growing group who demand we think like them.

No.

compared to great civilizations of the past, we are still a young country. Being a father of three, I am worried even more about the world they will live in 20-30 years from now. I can't control it, only focus on raising them the best way I know how. The events of the past 3-4 months do have me concerned. Now I hear former players want James F. Byrnes High School renamed..SMDH

Bottom line is you’d be better off to have a lobotomy and skip the 4 years of bs they pump up your ass. 95% of all Colleges are pure unadulterated propaganda factories. If you want a degree in engineering you should ONLY have to take Engineering classes and not all the other useless bs. College has really become obsolete. If you want to learn pretty much anything its all online for free. Parents need to get a clue. I had one who went to Carolina to be an engineer and one who dropped out in 11th grade, got his ged, went to work at 18, hustled and is now a millionaire at 34. My college graduate makes a good living but my dropout is kicking his ass financially. Lol

The one thing that concerns me is the national debt. We can survive a lot but uncontrolled spending and trillions of debt is a recipe for disaster.

I agree and the shame of it all is the waste of what they spend it on. This must stop and soon.

Is it? Like you, I would think so. But, with infrastructure costs, covid recovery, keeping up with the Chinese, reparations, Universal health care, writing off student loans, re-establishing police departments in ravaged cities, rebooting social security, the green new deal, I mean gee whiz, what could possibly cost more?

The debt? LOL

quotes from Trump’s recent Chief of Staff. Notice the progression.

1. “The only place it would make sense to borrow money to solve a debt crisis is Washington, D.C. You wouldn’t do it, I wouldn’t do it.” —Mick Mulvaney, 2011.

2. “You can’t just like spending that your party wants and dislike spending that the other party wants.” —Mick Mulvaney, November 2016.

3. “Is Trump going to get a little deference [on deficits] because he’s in the same party? Perhaps.” —Mulvaney, also November 2016.

4. “Right now we are nearly $20 trillion in debt, but Mick is a very high-energy leader with deep convictions for how to responsibly manage our nation’s finances and save our country from drowning in red ink.” —President Trump, as quoted in the Washington Post, “Trump names Rep. Mick Mulvaney, a fiscal hawk, to head budget office,” December 2016.

5. “When asked if the deficit will be mentioned in #SOTU speech, chief of staff Mulvaney said “nobody cares,” per attendee.”

I think it's a mistake to react to indoctrination concerns as if they were a simply an attack on higher education.

The two are not the same thing.

In fact, teaching a single side of politics as truth should be anathema to a true education.

mechanics are part of the deep state. Never trust any of them. They are only following orders as dictated.

they learn it from technical colleges.

This roller kid is funny. Blue collar workers are the only people you can trust. In fact they are the only truly educated Americans who can provide a useful service. Construction workers, mechanics, farmers, plumbers, electricians, welders, etc etc etc........they should all form an alliance together and start their own country. Watch these do nothing politicians and so called white collar “workers” wither away because they aren’t equipped to survive without the only useful people of this country.

With the exception of 25-30% the under 30 generation in this Country are Republic killers. They've been bathed in Socialism by these worthless professors who've never had a real job in their life.
You are spot on. I was also educated through those fools, but chose to think for myself

^ Bitter because he was probably unable to finish high school.

Yes indeed, each generation has gotten progressively worse and here is the proof.

“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room.
Socrates

^^ bitter because he finished college, spent 100k, probably still paying student loans and can’t build, or repair anything he’s making payments on. Lol

True, but one side is all you will hear in most classrooms

That’s right. When my septic tank backs up, I just throw a few bucks at someone like you and tell you to fix it while I sit by my pool with my hot girlfriend, drinking cocktails.

Agree. When my mom faced a recent hip surgery, she reached out to “Mike’s Oil/Lube & Tow.” MIke did an interesting job on her hip replacement. Mike says it will be a few more weeks before the “stuff we gave her” wears off so she can get out of bed to see if the surgery worked. We were, at first, worried about blood clots from being in bed for weeks without moving after surgery, but Mike says that’s needless worry and just fake news stuff from the “typically scared fancy guys with degrees and crap.” I have to say hearing such an honest guy takes a load off your mind while you watch your mom lay motionless for a few weeks after what was supposed to be fairly straightforward hip surgery. That her condition is completely normal was cause for celebration.

Mike is also a big Trump fan. When he consulted with my Mom and what she should expect from the surgery, he spent 20 of the allotted 25 minutes talking about how Trump was going to Keep America Great if he ever gets around to Making America Great. Mike then added a slightly confusing, story-twisting message about Hillary and emails. But either way, she was going to be locked up so Mike could get on with his life. That MIke said HIllary was going to jail soon put mom’s immediate medical concerns to rest.

it was very reassuring. While my mom had surgery and recovery medical questions, Mike also spent 3 minutes sharing his thoughts on real UFO sightings in Belton, SC and his newest theory about how Dennis DeYoung of Styx being responsible for Jonbenet Ramsey’s death. I mean, our family, had no idea.

Mike also said that he’s running a $29.99 oil change special for the rest of July for customers that will agree to not wear a face covering in his shop.

This must be true, because I've never ever heard of anyone being cheated by a mechanic.

Same

but I always remind the guy to not get sh$$ on my 27 foot center console parked nearby.

Your septic tank? lmao. Podunk much? I’m sure that aboveground pool outside your 77 Fleetwood single wide is nice. Thank god your dad had you in his will Skippy. I’d really love to know how many teeth your “hot” girlfriend has. Or if it’s even a girl at all. Good luck with that backed up septic tank son. Probably tampons your “hot” girlfriend flushed.

So you believe everything any mechanic tells you? Your bill is likely higher than someone's who has a little mechanical knowledge. Not just buying everything you're told and seeking second and third opinions is a mark if higher intelligence, especially if one is not already steeped in the particular area of knowledge.
