Folks let me preface this with even our best team (2013), and this is going back to 2009, we didn't have a Top 20 Offense. It was ranked 36th in the nation that season but our defense was Top 20 coming in at #19 in the country. What I'm saying is this even the Great Steve Spurrier had 2 top 40 ranked offenses from 2009-2015.
The Numbers are as follows:
--Year-- --W/L-- --Off Rank-- --Def Rank--
2009 7-6 82 15
2010 9-5 47 46
2011 11-2 73 3
2012 11-2 84 11
2013 11-2 36 19
2014 7-6 35 94
2015 3-9 99 95
2016 6-7 115 66
2017 9-4 109 44
2018 7-6 43 84
2019 4-8 95 67
2020 2-8 86 105
2021 6-6 115 43
In the past 13 years we have had only 2 Top 40 offenses or 4 top 50 offenses. Folks it's not like we have been an offensive juggernaut. Not even Spurrier was able to eclipse Top 40 offenses but twice since 2009 and we havent seen that kind of ranking since.. Would be nice to see the other years stats but this is as far back as the website I use rankings go. Basically we win with our defense and that holds true for the last 13 years.
