Nothing has been announced to the contrary that I've seen or read. As for Coach Ward, I think he is, and has been, an excellent coach, recruiter, and a credit to this University. I have confidence that Coach Spurrier knows who are the best coaches on his staff.

I don't agree

but I also don't think it's all his fault either. But I do believe he should carry a lot of it himself.

Semantics, but I think Ward stays as DC and Hoke takes EJ's old title...Ass't Head Coach of the Defense.

ESPN had an article today that said Hoke would take over the defense, it did not say what his title would be. It stated that our defense had hit bottom (my wording) and he was hired to turn it around. It said only one coach would probably be move to administration. I guess we will know soon.

Co-defensive coordinators......yeah right.
It's not that uncommon. Charlie Strong was a Co-defensive Coordinator at Florida. In the 1950's USC had co-defensive coordinators.

LMAO. No way Hoke actually comes in to be second-banana to Mr. Mumbles himself.

Who knows, maybe they'll coordinate on who stays in the Press Box and who stays on the Sideline for ultimate strategic purposes.

He was unemployed, don't know if he turned down any NFL jobs. He is not being allowed bring his own staff. At least not yet. Whammy has one more year on his contract, I imaging Hoke will Fully take over after this year and Ward and some other guys will be let go to make room for some new coaches. So it looks like Co-defensive Coordinators for 1 year.

He turned down the Broncos DC job. Doubt he'll be a position coach here. He'll run the defense.

I just hope Adams is moved to administration or flat out fired. He couldn't develop a talent like JD Clowney or Chaz Sutton. Then this year, it got even worse I measure Adams by the talent he had his first year and it was a noticible dropoff in skills.

Agreed, Adams has been a complete failure IMO. We saw a significant dropoff in d-line production when Lawing left. He couldn't even utilize Clowney properly in his last year, and our d-line wasn't even D1 caliber this year.

The entire defensive staff should have been replaced already. This is a half-assed solution but it's better than nothing I supposed.

I agree completely with hook and cawks!! ^^ THAT, imo, was the root cause of our defensive struggles in 2014 - poor DLine performance. I may be in the minority, but I don't believe last years woes are all on Whammy.

Hoke's former employer was notoriously known for not letting assistant coaches talk to other programs. Hoke being one of them in 2012 for the Vikings DC job. He's good enough to be considered for an NFL DC position, and he's good enough for Spurrier to go after 3x. He's good enough for me and the program :)
