Howard's Rock

If the rock is worth 10 grand then the case must be worth a skillion dollars!

Maybe that Micah Rogers dude came back to finish the job lol. You know we're going to get blamed. It'd be funny again to see their faces should it come from yet another Clemson fan.

My guess is some black ops team from the govt tried to get to the rock. If the little piece that dude broke off is worth as much ($10,000?) as that tater judge said it's worth, then the govt could pay off our countries nat'l debt with the whole rock.

Good grief! All this over a rock that has no geological reference . . .

nor any historical reference to Tillman Tech - the man (Coach Frank Howard) to whom the rock was given hated the damn thing - he used it as a door stop! It was a gift intended to be a JOKE, but maybe that's the real catch to all this hullabaloo over a rock from the REAL Death Valley, California: a stupid (alien?) rock revered by stupid Taters. Dumb, yeah, but look who we're talking about.

They should lock it up for safe keeping in the school bus that drives them around the stadium. By the way how much is the bus worth?

I have often wondered why the missing chunk of rock was never recovered and super-glued back in place. Did Mr. Micah get to keep it? or maybe its at the bottom of Lake Hartwell.

I blame ISIS.

I can't believe they don't only move it to the stadium/field on Game Days, only. i

If we buiid some statue at WB and leave it there year-round, that's what will begin happening to it - vandalism.

They should have never announced the rock was so valuable.. Now every tom dick and tater will be out to get it....

This. Just like our 2 championship trophies for baseball.

Yeah, just spend $100 and put a wireless camera on it.

Yep, they will now have to start doing the same thing with their damned precious rock!! Move it out there the morning of gameday, and then pack it up and after the game, move it back into safe storage until the next home game.

I wonder though, if this time, the vandal was able to actually remove the rock??? We all KNOW how sneaky them taters are!! If someone did steal the rock, I would not be surprised one bit if they hushed it, then go find a similar rock to put back in its place and no one would be the wiser!!! Think about it.

Maybe they could hire a SC engineering grad to show them how it's done!

They must have used the same camera that video tape Sammy Watkins jumping curbs. Didn't it break during the search of Sammy's car.

I bet it was ISIS wanting to raise funds for their twisted cause. When they saw what that small chunk was worth, they saw opportunity to hit the mother load. Or maybe the N. Koreans made an attempt on it to fund that nuclear program.

Batgirl's explanation seems the most logical. Or it could have been another deranged tater tech fan who just had to have a piece of CFB's most famous door stop. Those people aren't just stupid....they're downright strange.

No, one of the other articles I read reported that the cops said that the housing sustained some blunt force damage. IE, a big azz sledge hammer!!

I thought I saw it on eBay.

You can't put up camera's around Clempsum......What if a players shows up on video smoking weed or taking money or beating a fan or family member with a shower rod and its caught on tape? What you expect the Tater Police to do then when they have video of the incident? Too hard to cover that up.....

we're gonna watch the rock around the clock...we're gonna watch, gonna watch for any Cock... we're gonna watch, gonna watch the rock around the clock! LMAO!!

All kidding to the side, I think it's wrong for someone to mess up their rock because that is part of their tradition. Like the cock-a-booses are part of ours. I hope they catch whoever did it, and I sure as heck hope it is not a Carolina fan. We would never hear the end of it..

Per TigerNet news, it's been determined that construction crews who were working on renovations to the stadium accidentally damaged the casing and reported it to authorities shortly after.

"72", You are right - vandalism is wrong all the way around, but I don't recall all the hullabaloo over the cockabooses they do over this rock! Maybe I missed some of the carrying on, but it seemed like a much quicker story than this "rock" gets. It's happened more times but each time it's ALL OVER the news - a lot over-the-top imo! Did they ever stop & think they may be bringing TOO much attention to this thing?

I have a rock in my backyard that looks a lot like it. I should take a picture of it and send a ransom note.

clemson fans vandalize our stadium and cockabooses......apparently, they also vandalize their own stuff.

I think they have enough problems with their own redneck people. They have a massive lead on us in the vandalism program.

ISIS has it and is using it to motivate their recruits like Dabo does. Do not worry tiger fans because JACK BAUER has escaped from the Russians and is on his way home to recover the Billion Dollar Rock and save Tiger Football. New season starts spring 2015.
