I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I know people will pick me apart for even making this post but after the way we looked against UGA and considering we didn't get to play Marshall, AND considering Vandy gave Notre Dame everything they could handle...... I am surprised that we are winning and pretty much controlling the game.

Granted....Noodle Lame is over rated every year so you never really know how good they are.

The only question mark I have had thus far is "Where is Tyson?" No sooner do I ask that question and Jake throws to T'yson in the flat on 4th and 3 (I think it was) and instead of lowering his head and cutting up field, he runs out of bounds, short of the 1st down. Then I realized I may have answered my own question. ???? I just think T'yson is a better RB. Eh... Hope, this delay doesn't screw us up. And Kinlaw....WOW!

I watched some Vandy film this week and I knew we were better than them, even though the commodores almost beat Notre Dame, it was easy to see they wasn’t that good. I knew we had a speed advantage, so I figured we win by 12-13 points.

Muschamp is a good fit at SC

That response sounds strange. At any rate, after I started this thread, play resumed and we got down around the goal line and Champ didn't challenge the "fumble." It clearly wasn't a fumble and it's also the first time I've criticized Champ as a coach. I'm sorry....but not calling T/O and challenging that....????? IMHO Champ should have his ass chewed out for that. That is an unacceptable mental error on his part that should NEVER happen. Even if you lose the challenge......it still would have given him a chance for a "Come to Jesus" meeting for the guys.

Wow you should be our coach! You watch game film before the game and figured we would win by 12 - 13 points before we even played? That’s impressive! If not coaching you should definitely be in Vegas handicapping college football. BRAVO,

Had been good for us and had made good decisions to steadily improve our condition. After today it looks like our offense has greatly improved after the OC change after last season and it is balanced.

Development of Kinlaw and defensive line is impressive.

Offensive line improvement is impressive also.

Better be ready for Kentucky next week. They are playing good football now too.

I said that in another thread on here before the game, and I’ll post what I think about the Kentucky game later in the week. I’m not always right, and I know you’re being “sarcastic” but that’s ok. Go Gamecocks! :)

In all honesty, I think they could have won. I can't say they should have won because, not only were on the road at Notre Dame, but they never had the lead in the game. But they did a great job of making it competitive at the end. They had a chance.

I hadn't watched a Kentucky game in years, but tuned into to that one expecting a Mississippi thrashing of them. But wow, that looks like a different Kentucky team.

I was pulling for Mississippi State to win, but their comportment tonight makes me not sorry they got their butts whipped.

Kentucky is good at getting in the opposing teams heads. IMO they had MSU beat before the game started. They did the same thing to us last year.We need to let them flap their gums and we whip their ass....quitely.

This game was a gift from Vegas. Often it's easier to see from an outside perspective. Congrats to your Gamecocks.

I wasn't really worried about Vandy as of last weekend, but after reading the forum all week I started to get more nervous. We are not where we should be if we have to be "Pleasantly Surprised" by beating Vandy with a decent score!

I think we are getting in our groove. I'm interested in seeing what this line will be. We have a bunch of good players, just gotta make sure they aren't all hurt.

Really like Shi Smith. Reminds me of some of the great WRs we have had in our past. I expect he will break some big ones with big yards after the catch this sesson.

We'll get a chance at a quality win next week in Lexington.
Sure will and it will be tough. Kentucky will be ranked and we might be. I think we deserve to be ranked again because if the margin of victory over Vanderbilt but pollsters might wait until after the Kentucky game before ranking us and we have to win and avoid a 2nd conference loss to earn it.

Does not compute. The team's performance on the field is the only factor that matters in terms of "being where we should be." Some of our fans and experts thought that Vandy would give us a game or even win based on their impressive play so far this year. We kicked the crap out of them yesterday. Should have won by more due to very correctible mistakes that don't concern me much. Seems like we were exactly where we "should be" yesterday!
