I am sure nobody remembers but for years I hate posted about my hatred for Vandy! Good on MSU

In all fairness King - Dudy-Noble attracted fans and players before the renovations. I liked it before they added all the condos in the OF. There was just something about attending a game there, with the flatbed trucks along the OF fence. It's lost a lot of its charm with the renovation.I am laughing at their calamity, but not because of N.C State. I hate N.C. State psychotically. Congratulations to Miss. State. Long a respectable program, they have acquired the right coach and made their ballpark into a showplace that attracts not only fans but outstanding ballplayers. They saw what they needed do to win at the highest level - and did it.
I hear you. I have to believe that, the better the program, and the nicer the facilities, the more attractive the school is to prospects. You are the best and most knowledgeable Gamecock baseball fan on the board. Have we fallen somewhat behind in the arms race or have we not? I'm also looking at Arkansas, LSU, A&M, and Ole Miss - and maybe Florida. In all fairness King - Dudy-Noble attracted fans and players before the renovations. Then again, there really is nothing else to do in Starkville in the Spring, so they did what they must.
I can see why people would think that just looking at the facilities on their face. There are things that can be done to improve Carolina Stadium, from the player standpoint more so than anywhere else, i.e. put a damn visitor's clubhouse under the stands on the 3B side. Why that wasn't done initially I'll never understand.I hear you. I have to believe that, the better the program, and the nicer the facilities, the more attractive the school is to prospects. Well, I found things to do there when I was a Batgirl. But the average person probably wouldn't enjoy Starkville as much as I did. What? Nothing to do in Starkvegas? Say it ain't so
Appreciate it. That clubhouse is a much bigger deal than my pet peeve: no cupholders at the CLA. It's symptomatic of our short-sighted cheapness. Beyond that, it seems that I have overestimated our baseball culture. From what you have described, it appears to be rather situational for a school that has done so well in the sport since the 1970s. Glad we have you and people like you, if in less than desirable numbers. G'day.I can see why people would think that just looking at the facilities on their face. I hear people complaining that we need more seats. We do not, just yet. Until you can't get tickets for games not named Clemson, Vandy, UF, we don't need more seats.
We need to give the Students Sec 1, all of the Berm, Sec 24&25, and the bleachers for overflow. We NEED to embrace their energy and make our ballpark as unwelcoming as possible (while keeping it "on the field") as it is at Dudy-Noble, Baum, The Box, and Swayze.
Unfortunately our diehard Baseball fan base is smaller than those in LSU and MSU. We have a great many bandwagonners that jumped on June 29, 2010, and again June 28, 2011. And they have since jumped off for a myriad of reasons (probably mostly because they aren't really baseball fans to begin with). But even then we weren't filling the ballpark entirely for the midweek games and the lesser SEC schedule. These other schools are the town they are in. We are hampered when it comes to attendance for Baseball because we are in the Capital and there are so many other things going on at any given time.
UF does not have the fan following, and never will. They can't fill that nice new stadium that they just built. And that makes it look that much worse.
I like our ballpark the way it is. Now if they wanted to put cushioned seats on Row 1 of Sec 4, I'm all for that. Or give me the little beer delivery boat river that I saw at a MiLB park somewhere online, that'd be great. However, I'd rather have less seats that are full of butts than have huge capacity but a ton of empty seats.

A typically well-considered decision.🙄 Seems to me that a school which plans to regularly host NCAA regional playoffs and super regionals would incorporate some symmetry in its player facilities.Btw,
The no clubhouse for the visitors was done intentionally. It creates an advantage for the home team. That's not a joke, it was a very calculated decision by the school.
I'm not saying give them a full locker room. But a bathroom and at least an area to sit during a rain delay would be nice. As @king ward mentioned. With as many Regionals/Supers we typically host, not to mention the travel ball tournaments we host, it would make sense.Btw,

I know of high school that doesnt have a roof on the visitor's dugout. Been that way for decades. Home team has a roof and always has. Always thought that was pretty low class.Btw,
