I never did follow collage fb until Paul Dietzell came to town. That was when the Bear became my favorite and I never for the life of me understood why My great state couldn't have a winning program as Alabama. This being said, I wll say something that will piss many of u people off by telling u what I see. Most all u people, USC OR CLEMSUCKS FANS are all alike. Not one penny's worth of difference in your action. USC hates UC and UC hates USC. U don't give a big rats long tail about any thing outside of that. Alabama people see the complete picture and they want to win every game. We as a state should care about being voted #1 in out great country. Clemson is a little town in the NW corner of our state, USC represents the whole state. I personally believe we should have something big to crow about. Now please wake the hell up and expand our FB, coast to coast continually. Every man and woman in this country outside of Alabama know and hate them "ALABAMA". No one thinks nor cares about U. SOUTH CAROLINA. Why! because they know we don't last long. Now u can come back and say all kinds of nasty things about me but then that will be typical. THINK ABOUT IT BECAUSE I'm correct.

I know of very few people outside of Auburn or Knoxville who "hate Alabama" as you suggest. I've traveled the U.S. for years and I can honestly say outside of SEC country I see little mention of either school. I think you're trying to create controversy where none exists, as most people on this board have a legitimate respect for "Bama".
I will say this regarding your post, however, far more people across the country and Canada think about South Carolina when planning vacations, vs. Alabama. Alabama does have a nice but small stretch of Gulf beaches near Gulf Shores, but nothing that remotely compares with the quality, extent, and diversity of South Carolina's coast. Alabama as some great places and people, but they are probably at least as provincial in their thinking as you suggest we are here. Sorry if this isn't the inflammatory response you were hoping for, but I have first hand experience somewhat different from yours regarding this subject.

I hope USC fans will stop using that old tired and worn-out excuse about SC being a small state as the reason we haven't been able to sustain a winning FB record for a long period as Ala and SC have about the same population. Ala has TWO winning pgms with, as I said, about the same number of people as SC.
