Well, according to an analyst on SEC Now, it really won't have been necessary to win two more series but just three more SEC games in any combination. The analyst when on to say that the magic total wins for us relative to making the NCAA playoffs was 15 SEC games because of our high RPI of over 70, normally the magic number is 14 SEC wins. RPI probably won't be over 70 any more after this weekend.. We will see!

Well, that is true... I don't think for a second we will be a lock for the tourney because of where our RPI is after this weekend, but if we beat LSU at least two out of three (not an easy or possibly even realistic task) AND string together a couple SEC tourney wins, we should still make it in- most likely it would have to be at the expense of another SEC who is not he bubble.

Not an easy set of circumstances considering our struggles this season at the plate, the fact our best pitcher is out the rest of the year and we have NO closer. If our guys step up and keep hitting like they did this weekend, the fielding stays flawless like it was this weekend and we find a way for a couple guys on the staff besides Wynkoop to becomes reliable, consistent options for us on the mound... We could make a run that would put us in the NCAAs.

We will see I guess... I sure hope this weekend was a sign that the team has ironed out some issues, the young guys are catching up to the speed of the college game and maybe it is at the very least enough to give us hope for next season. At best, it might be hope for us to extend THIS season and avoid snapping our streak of consecutive trips to the NCAAs.
