I'm going to go with this one as well. The 2nd injury hurt more to watch because we knew that it meant the end of his career at SC and possibly his career as a player. But from a time traveler's perspective, I would change the _first_ injury. Because without that injury, perhaps the 2nd one doesn't happen either and perhaps we would have had a chance to see a healthy Marcus for 3 full seasons. The chance to go back and see Marcus Lattimore run 100% healthy for 3 years is something I wouldn't give up for any single play in Gamecock history. The play Marcus got hurt at MSU, would have love to see him healthy his whole time here.

nov 77, guess most of u then weren't even a gleam in yer dads eye
I was there...freshman...row 7 down by the flag pole. I couldn't even see the catch, just saw the reactions on and off the field. That one and the Gardner push off were the hardest ones to swallow. Of course, I'd trade either or both if we could turn back time, and have Marcus not take the hit that ended his career.
Ur showing ur age lol. My dad told me about that when I was growing up. Cost us a lot.John Roche spraining his ankle in the ACC tourney...
Yes by a mile. With Fuller to Butler in 1977 a distant second. Both plays set the stage for 25-35 years of misery.John Roche spraining his ankle in the ACC tourney...

The Andrew Pinnock fumble on the goal line vs GA. It was the perfect play, and I think he would have scored easily. These were all hard to swallow. Each play came at the end of each game, and was the difference in winning vs losing.
One note on the Gardner push off. They ran the same play 2 plays before, and Dantzler under threw the pass so badly that Gardner had to hook Andre Goodman around his neck, and yank him down to keep Goodman from intercepting. That play was also right in front of the same official. The offensive interference was as obvious as the push off two plays later, but no call. Watch the video on You Tube, and you'll see Goodman (when he got up) asking the official where the flag was. Still painful to think about.

I agree with the sentiment in the 2nd post. But the OP is spot on. If that play is incomplete it's 4th and 10 and a stop wins the game. We go on to win the East and if we somehow had beaten Auburn would have most likely played FSU for the title.
Yes, but...that was one play. Just one play. Even if we had beaten UT, it wouldn't have meant we were vastly superior.
Auburn, on the other hand, went into Knoxville a couple of weeks later and won by 32 points.
Also, don't forget it took a miracle for us to beat Mizzou. Auburn put on a 40 point beatdown on the Tigers.
We were not as good as Auburn at the end of 2013. We would not have beaten them.
Even when we do have a better team than them (2011, for example), we still find a way to lose to them.
