Who can step up..

Kyle Martin and Elliott Caldwell are gone, Max Schrock and Jack Wynkoop are most likely will be gone as well... There is nothing left in the program to build around and next year's best pitcher won't be ready until 2017....

Unless we get a real hitting coach and a new pitching coach, and have Chad go out and recruit his ass off rather than sitting on his ass and rely on Ray Tanner's back to back National Championship trophies, next year will be worse than this year...

I read somewhere that on FGF that Chad has a contract until 2019. I find that hard to believe with College Baseball...

I think we earn the right to call our baseball program one of the elite programs with our facilities and back to back National Championship trophies. They don't hand out National Championships, you go out and earn it...

I say to Chad, go out and earn your job back... Quit whining what the players aren't doing and be a man or coach and tell them what you expect them to do and do it. Yank out players who commit more errors that the rest of the NCAA teams combine and make sure some of those pitchers on the staff never see the light of day on the field... And for God sakes man, learn to play hit and run with the bases loaded... Make the other teams commit errors on moving targets....

Starting today beat Auburn, Wofford, 1 out of 3 against TAM, USC Upstate, 2 out of 3 against LSU and if you make it to the SEC Tournament, win the damn thing. Anything less than that, the season is done and you should resign quietly into the night.

Your right we lose several of our top players, however our incoming class is rated anywhere from #5 to #7 by the baseball publications. Including a number of pitchers already throwing 90mph +. I think there will be a lot of new faces on the field and the 35 man roster.

You maybe be right, but we have had top ranked classes in the last 3 years and they end up signing with MLB before classes start or they really don't pan out in College baseball...

We both know kids coming in from high school is a crap shoot and sometimes it's the competition they play in high school that makes them look great...

But this frustrates me to no end to see this program take a nose dive in less than 3 years for the CWS...

Chad maybe a great guy, great asst. coach and great recruiting coach, but to see this program take huge steps backwards is killing me... I used to heckle for humor, now I just cry when this team takes the field, unless Jack takes the mound...

I don't care how hard a pitcher throws. They need to throw strikes and get people out. Michael Roth had a mid Eighties fastball. This is too much of the production for an already bad baseball team to have to make up for with with a bunch of freshman. We bring in a supposedly top class every year and the last two years we've got nothing but scrubs.

What Holbrook needs to do is got out and find us some big time transfers. Guys that are already that are already producing for their teams. Use our suckiness to our advantage. I don't know if he even has the scholarships to be able to do that though. Maybe we will do like football, and "have attrition." That is what it is going to take to turn this around quickly.

Chad was a good assistant coach and very good recruiter.

He's no longer an assistant coach and no longer our main recruiter.

You could easily have made this comment during the2009 season, and been shown to be spectacularly wrong a year later.

The difference between making this comment now vs. in 2009... Ray Tanner has been a proven coach at NC State and Carolina for over 20 years... Chad has proven ......

I read somewhere on FGF that our recruiting class was ranked as high as # 1 by some recruiting services.

I'm concerned about the guys we lose next year too (our current top pitchers and top hitters). Hopefully the new guys are ready to contribute right away.

No the difference between this year and than year, in 2009 we were #2 seed in the tournament, this year we're not even going to be in it. Also, in 2010 the cupboard was not left completely bare like it will be next year.

Thus far, same type of classes that Tanner recruited however they appeared to have been coached up. Now they appear to have regressed. Fielding errors are through the roof. I can't remember when we had such Non-existant bullpen, and I don't even want to talk about our hitting. Just a very poorly coached team by a coach who shows no emotion, no enthusiasm and ,it appears, very little interest in the game. ( I'll close by saying I don't Jack-$hit about what it takes to coach a team. I am just a frustrated, depressed and pissed-off Alum at what this coach is doing or not doing with our program. Coaches come and go but we will be here till the bitter end.

i just heard them say that if they removed the 3, 4 and 5 hitters from our lineup everyone else is batting a combined .209 .....that is pitiful
