I'm no fan of Gray Collegiate, but Brandon Wallace landed a job there

One of your kids must have lost to one of the Gray teams.....Sour Grapes.... Tom Knotts has been recruiting at Dutch Fork for 10+ years. Get in where you fit in.
Just so I'm understanding you correctly, do you think it's an even playing field between Gray and a vast majority of other 2A programs? Why do these charter's keep winning a majority of state championships in almost all sports?

No, none of my kids lost to Gray, but my high school (Abbeville) did. Gray was clearly the best team, and they should be given the difference of area that they're pulling from. No sour grapes specifically towards Gray, but rather towards the SCHSL for allowing it to happen.

The only sour grapes from me concerning Gray is towards the asst coach (to be fair, I've heard he was let go since then) who came into the Abbeville radio booth TWICE during the game and interrupted/threatened our broadcast crew (both of who I know personally) live on air. The crew also had to be escorted to their vehicles after the game. Their crime, pointing out where different Gray players played the previous years, which was all true. They didn't downgrade any players (I have the audio), just stated facts. Apparently facts riled some folks up.

There are several shady cheaters throughout the state. But way to bring up another one to defend the moral high ground. It is a shame that a collection of kids throughout the state at these “collegiate academies” are taking titles away from small towns like Abbeville, Saluda and places similar that are so isolated that yes they are playing by the rules.

You’re not the only one recruiting, but that doesn’t make it right.

Amen.

Again, it's the SCHSL that allows it to happen. If they made them play at the highest classification or some type of private league amongst themselves (would be my suggestion), most of the athlete's would stop coming.

The only thing that sticks in my craw about some of the privates individually, they deny that they recruit. Just be honest about it. Instead, they deny and get angry when someone suggests it.

Fought with the SCHSL about this for 15 years. Should of just rammed my head into a wall.
What the League wants is to have nothing to do with transfers. Their staff wouldn’t have to bother with it. Go to the site and look at the list of transfers. Count ‘em up if you have a lot of time and a tote sheet on your hands. Most are legit, I suspect, but a certain % are “recruits.”

No doubt. When a high school kids goes to high school 2 hours from home, most of the time it's a recruiting situation.

What website are you talking about so we can see the list of transfers?

When Dorman basketball had a starting point guard that goes to Butler, a starting center that goes to Clemsux, a starting power forward that goes to James Madison and another starter that ends up at USC Upstate you would think that would throw up some red flags. It apparently did not. Guess the SCHSL just thought Roebuck was loaded with D1 talent.
