Importance of Shaka Smart potentially leaving VCU

asking a quick question to everyone on here that knows more than me but shaka smart has been talked about for some other jobs...if he leaves does SC have a chance at the in state kid that wants to go to VCU? I dont know what the rules say or anything but I think SC was like 2nd on his list?

He's already signed with VCU I believe, so he would have to be released from his LOI

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. If Shaka Smart leaves he may follow him to his new school or Frank may have another shot at him.

I think Frank would have a good shot at him if Smart went to Texas. Texas shouldnt, and hasnt, competed with the likes of VCU for recruits. They usually aim, and have a legitimate shot, at better talent. So if he goes to Texas, I think Frank can get back in there on this kid. As basketball builds that would be a huge pickup for this program.

The winds have blown back and forth between Smart and Marshall (Wichita State). Currently people expect Texas to hire Smart with Marshall going to Alabama. I hope the reverse.
