Rutgers!

And, top 20 ranked Florida recently lost AT HOME to Texas Southern, a team with a 0-7 record!

The Gamecocks lost to whom?

I have to ask; Does Purdue do that every single year? Does UF do that year-in and year-out? USC BBall does...
Idk about Purdue but UF, yeah. I'm surprised Mike White is still the coach. They've underachieved for years

Trying to justify bad behavior by pointing at bad behavior elsewhere is a pretty weak argument.

Purdue and Florida are regular participants in the NCAA tourney, and we are not. Purdue and Florida will very likely participate in the 2022 tournament and our likelihood to do so is pretty slim.

The comparison being made here is silly.

Exactly. We are comparing an anomaly to a well-documented pattern.

The Gamecocks mens BB program, IMO, is in shambles. is losing to Texa Southern worse?? NO, i am not a Florida fan so it doens bother me one it. Losing to Coastal D
I agree. Its high time we take the steps necessary to return to our perennial spot as a top 15 program and at minimum sweet sixteen participant. Fire Frank Tanner.

I can only agree that we should be a perennial top 15 ranked men's basketball program. We have our coach this year, but that should be our plan. If not now, when? Now, if our recruiting exceeds expectations, we should be patient. However, we should see a clear path towards a top 15 program.

Just curious, has this ever happened?

Re: recruiting that exceeded all expectations.

Yes, it happened before and it can happen again. The couple of years we recruited Kotsar, Notice, Felder, Silva, Dozier and Thornwell, our recruiting exceeded all expectations. These are 4* or better elite players. Perhaps not Notice, because of his inconsistent shooting, but Duane Notice was a solid player, and quite a defender!

A couple of these players may not have been heralded, but Coach Frank's basketball skill at locating high school talent is better than ours, in general.

Rutgers went to the tournament last season and the RAC is a tough place to play so this isn't a huge surprise. Rutgers is my second favorite team.
