One of the names on this list that will likely raise the eyebrows on some of our subscribers is that of Sam Bruce, a former four-star prospect out of Fort Lauderdale who took an official visit to USC during the 2016 cycle. Bruce signed with Miami and was later dismissed from the program; he's now a teammate of four-star DB Saivion Smith at Gulf Coast Community College. To be succinct, we do not expect much movement here between Bruce and the Gamecocks.

As for Smith, the former LSU defensive back, he has offers from several SEC programs including South Carolina. Losing at least three starters in the secondary for the 2018 season, USC's defensive staff is looking to restock the talent back there with some early contributors. A prospect with Smith's talent level could help fit the bill there. This weekend will be important as USC's staff continues learning more about Smith and assessing the potential fit, always an important part of the recruiting process. Right now, Alabama would have to be considered the clubhouse favorite for Smith.

Aside from Smith, the two other official visitors were covered by Wes in his most recent Carolina Confidential. To add my two cents, I believe South Carolina to have a strong shot at flipping Jarrett Jackson and the smart money would be on KJ Henry ending up elsewhere at this time.

As we've documented since the spring and summer, USC holds the cards on four-star offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum.

Groulx, Robbins, Robinson, JR Walker, Travon Walker, Corum, and Cowan will all be making at least their second trip (and for many, the next in several trips) to Columbia. Travon Walker recently included the Gamecocks in a cut to four that included Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia. Stanley, the younger brother of Donell Stanley, has camped at USC the past two summers.

Robinson, a teammate of current 2019 Gamecock commitment Gee, has at times hinted at making an early decision between Alabama and the Gamecocks. USC is a factor - to varying degrees - for all the other underclassman visitors on this list.
