I don't think he was ever solid USC, no matter what folks may say. Heard all the talk about GG was a lock and was going to bring a couple more with him. Frank, I think in an attempt to secure his job, even alluded to an incoming recruit that he couldn't talk about yet. GG, and his family, had to know Frank's shaky job situation. If he were such a lock why didn't he step forward and say that he was committed to USC as long as Frank was the coach? A big time recruit might have made the difference.

Who knows, if he had any major interest in coming here then I would think he’d wait to see who the coach is before makigg be that call - otherwise I would argue he never had any true interest.

That’s true but the ability to land recruits such as these in our back yard is likely going to determine the success or failure of our next coach.

This was part of the reason why I wanted a change 2-3 years ago. I knew we had some high level local guys for 22 and 23 back when these kids were in 9th grade. I wanted a reset so we could possibly have a chance.
