Is it time to dissolve the current NCAA???

So a bunch of rules that further handicap players and continue to make schools money on free labor ... Awesome.
If those were the rules, then also add:
Schools cannot charge money for tickets, nor may they sell concessions above costs.
Games cannot be broadcast, as the laborers would earn nothing for their likenesses nor achievements.
No advertising can be sold inside the stadium.
Athletes images may not be used for promotional purposes without compensation.
Schools cannot sell memoribilia featuring an athlete's name, likeness or jersey number.
Athletes are free to make spare cash by charging for autographs.
No more LOIs, athletes are not bound to a school. They can transfer as they see fit, without penalty just like any other student.

NCAA is suspect organization. They have all these rules which probably every school breaks at one point. Then there are the cheaters who are punished and the others who are not and some are never investigated and if they are hand slaps. (UNC?) So overall it's a fail.

So, eliminate the NCAA and have one guy handing down edicts, no exceptions? Seems like that has been tried throughout history. Doesn't usually end well, for anyone.

Your rules suck worse than ncaa. Pay back the scholarship? C'mon bro. 1000 SAT etc no thanks.

We need to let the guys transfer without sitting out a year, need to pay the guys that really draw in the money. Like Tanneyhill hats and he didn't make a dime etc

Jerry Tarkanian's quote: "The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation."

I don't like the NCAA, never have. Think players should be payed and treated as school employees. If they want a degree let them apply and be accepted just like anybody else. If they don't, no big deal. Stop charade that every kid who signs a letter of intent is a student-athlete.

Would football players be payed more than softball players? Yup. More people watch football. It's a lesson in life. Some vocations pay more than others. So do some sports. If you're playing a sport for money play one that makes it.

I've been wanting to see the NCAA disbanded ever since it decided to inject itself into politics. IMO, it should not be within their power to punish students and universities just because the NCAA happens to disagree with decisions made by state legislators... or for that matter the people of said states. They have stepped way over their boundaries. I'd like nothing more than to see a revolt take them down.

Past time for changes to the NCAA. Saw a story today about a kid from either UCF, or USF, that somehow is making money off of YouTube. Not sure how you do that, but regardless, the NCAA has basically told him he can with quit the YouTube or give up football. But he can't have both.

There's no requirement for a student to sign an LOI anyway.

If the NCAA were to let members pay athletes, the volleyball and football players should be paid the same. Allow the athletes to sign endorsement contracts, charge for autographs, etc. That's where the football players will make more money.

Power 5 conferences could at any time leave the NCAA if they wanted and start their own association. This is what should happen anyway. It is impossible to make rules across the board fairly for all schools. The issues at North Dakota State are vastly different from those of Ohio State. The FCS, FBS, D-2, and D-3 are all very different and should not necessarily have the same rules or operate under the same structure.
