It’s entertainment, and I don’t typically look at what other people enjoy to determine what I should enjoy.

My point was that as a fan, my interests aren't determined by the interests of others. That was my only point. Sure, football is more relevant when it comes to money, television ratings, and national respect. But I don't spend my nights worrying about those things, and I certainly don't care about national respect. Seems a little childish to me. It's Tanners job to worry about money, not mine. Any college athletics fan with any kind of balance in their life watches for enjoyment..not because they're looking for respect from other fans.

So yes, if your main focus is revenue and national respect, ignore baseball. It's not relevant from that perspective. Quite honestly, it never would have occurred to me that an adult would watch college athletics with those things at the forefront of their mind, so please forgive me for clearly not understanding anything you said. It isn't any more relevant than lacrosse unless you're talking about money or what most fans watch. Athletic revenue and popularity isn't relevant to me. How are those things relevant to you? I assume you don't make any money off of USC athletics.

What's relevant to one person isn't always relevant to another. The poster I responded to seems to be driven by the so called respect he thinks the school deserves. That's not at the top of the list for everybody.

From a personal perspective, football and baseball are what I care about most. I care about baseball more than I care about basketball, even though basketball generates more money. Should I care about basketball more just because most fans do or because it generates a profit. I grew up playing baseball and know the game well. I don't know anything about basketball. Should I just forget about baseball because its irrelevant from a profit standpoint? That's basically what Lifer seems to think.
