Video link includes some recent footage of WB. I'm re-cutting another showing all the work around the stadium without the sales info. Old State Newspaper building adjacent to WB is down and landscaping is going in.

Jaco's Video

That would be a good spot for a hotel, though it would be a shame to tear down such a landmark.

My grandmother was a Jaco so it will be a sad day if this place is ever torn down. Olympia is where my grandparents met almost 80 years ago

Is it still open or have they closed it already?

Jaco's is still OPEN.
They wanted me to be clear about that.
It's the Oldest Continually Operating Bar in SC and they are damned certain it's going to stay that way as long as they own it!
And if you've never been there, you should. It really is a piece of living history and no matter what it becomes (or remains) in its new life, it won't be the same.
1912... there's some blood on those floors!

Hey, Matt I think I may be your parking neighbor during football games.

Jaco's? Been there, done that, bought quite a few Bud-lights there.

It's cool and all, its just that it reminds me of quite a few other old beer joints that you'll still find "open" in pretty much all the old Mill-Towns in SC.

I hung out at Jaco's every football Saturday from the mid-70's to mid 80's and loved every minute of it. Used to park on the side of Olympia High by the RR tracks and had an escape route through the mill village that cut out a lot of traffic and time. Best hot dogs around. Must have eaten 100's over the years.
