I still can't figure out why schools don't just blow the NCAA up and start over -- other than it's helping prop up a system that pays select coaches, administrators and top-tier NCAA executives a great deal of money.

They have to power to slap sanctions so why don't they do it? You are right, it's like allowing a child to decide his own punishment for doing wrong. You let schools govern themselves there won't BE any governing now it's more about the revenue schools like UNC bring than principle. But for the ones, like us, if we ever decided to cheat we would get 10-20 at San Quentin when caught that's why we must be straight.
