I already like this new coach.
Hit some free throws this game is over. Why why why can’t we ever hit free throws consistently? Great shot by Chico but shouldn’t have been needed.

A lot of people didn’t. You and I were in small minority that had actually seen the guy play and were talking him up. They were caught up on his size and coming from The Citadel.
We rebounded very well. If we continue to rebound well and pick up our shooting we can surprise some people. Not saying we will win the conference but we can be competitive with most.
Fun game to watch. It was enjoyable to not have to see our coach screeming or pouting the whole game.
This team is totally refreshing. I am glad Martin was let go when he was. His time with us had passed. I wished him well, but we needed a breath of fresh air. Paris is just that. Not because we are 2-0, but because his calm demeanor was much needed. He will do well here I think. I love the other freshmen he brought in besides the obvious in GG. Martin would have lost last nights game. He would have already put Gray in the doghouse and killed any confidence. Our players now, while making mistakes, know they are not going to get yanked immediately or dog cussed in front of thousands. It was getting so old and the product on the floor seemed the same every year. Wish we had D Carter back, but other than that it was time to clean house. Fun team to watch now.
Well it was kind of tough to watch at times, thank goodness cu turned the ball over as well! Nice to see us hold it together, i really didn’t give us much of a chance against a fairly veteran team and us with 8 new faces, that tells me a lot about coach paris right there and some about brownell! I thought our rebounding and d won the game for us and it can get better! Ft shooting must get better! We’ve got a pretty nice mix of no-name players!
A prime example of this was Chico Carter. Martin had people thinking the kid couldn’t play. No, he is not the best defender, but his ability to shoot the ball is useful.
Absolutely thrilled to see them get a win in their first big D1 game. I'm gonna give them a pass on free throws in this one. They looked overly excited just playing in this game most of the time. They will settle down as big games become the norm. Gotta think their composure will improve and they'll settle down and play within themselves. That alone will cut down on some of the dumb stuff imo. Anywho, super excited and looking forward to watching this team gel this year and see who emerges as the leader(s)... could be any of a number of them. Gotta like that
I like our coach and like the way our team plays. Like the demeanor of our staff. I like Brownell, too. He does well with what he can get. Knew him when he was at UNC-Wilmington and liked his style and demeanor. Just wish he wasn’t wearing orange. He does his best to get local talent (in-state) but knows he has to go outside the state, too.

If memory serves, Chico had a good game against Clemson last year, when Martin HAD to play him because of covid.
He did, but it was a forgettable loss and Martin buried the kid on the bench for the remainder of the year.

A better source is the program's athletic website, Gamecocksonline.com. You can get stats for the year, Game-by-Game box scores, rosters, rosters from previous years, you name it. All athletic programs have them.
