Didn't know you had a PHD. Cool, I finished PHS in '63.

I'm 49 and grew up in rural SC. My mother's junior class was the first to integrate in the school district. I think that was 1968.Not doubting you, but can you cite a source? I'd like to know about the case. And where did you go to school? I'm almost 50 and integration happened earlier here.
Thanks. So someone who is 53 did not go to school before integration.I'm 49 and grew up in rural SC. My mother's junior class was the first to integrate in the school district. I think that was 1968.
But GHS had to form two high schools in order to do that. LOL! I do remember some saying that GHS went to school in shifts for awhile - don't know how long that lasted.
I can't say that with certainty. I suppose different states/districts could have integrated at different times. Based on the timelines that he suggests and that of my mother's experience, it is possible that it was his kindergarten or 1st grade class that first integrated. Anything past that, I'd have difficulty believing without some research. So someone who is 53 did not go to school before integration.

If he's 53 and started school when he was 5, that's 1972.I can't say that with certainty. I suppose different states/districts could have integrated at different times. Baby boomers caused that, early 60’s.........apparently mom & dad couldn’t control themselves after WW2.
nI would like a large T Bone steak, baked potato and some cherry coke. I don’t need your dinner, but I do hope you’ll read the article, watch the video and realize that 2020 is still not the right time to joke about a lynching. That would be more important to me than a meal.

And I get that, but I guess more to what I was speaking of is why wasn't Greenville County more prepared to handle the over flux of students?
Great to see a sports-related thread that was begun today and already has more than 90 posts.
Yes, and we’re waiting for yer sr class yr book picExcellent!! I got my Parker High Diploma in 1966.
This is what he posted. I am sorry, but this image has ZERO racial connotations. The top of it got cut off but it says "After 2 weeks of quarantine with her husband, Gertrude decided to knit him a scarf."
n
Ok, then. maybe it is not the right time to joke about nooses. Do you know who Judge Parker was? Do you know he was known as a hanging judge? Do you know he hanged mostly white people? But, I cannot prove that, because back then they did not separate every thing by race, and blame a certain race for the misfortunes or another race. But there were mostly white people in the majority in that area of the country at that time, and who were engaged in criminal activity, and it is only logical to presume they were the most hanged. I never read a report of Judge Parker not hanging a criminal because he was white.
So, maybe as you said 2020 is not the time for a basketball coach to joke about a noose, a symbol of which is now the sacred emblem of the PC left.
Is 2020 a time to wear blackface? Did you know the Governor of Virginia used to proudly go around in blackface, but he is a democrat so he has not been hounded out of office, like he probably would have been had he been Republican?
So, until you apply the same outrage to republicans as you do to leftist democrats, please spare me this PC nonsense!
The concept of the photo was that the wife could not take anymore after 2 weeks isolation with the husband and has no reference to race. I guess those in the wild west with Judge Roy Bean who hanged anybody for anything need to get PC also. I guess minorities should get outraged everytime they see a picture of a gun because in Chicago that is what is killing a lot of people. Put everything in it's contents. If you have any black friends, show that to them and see if they feel the same way.

You need to read the message again. It was getting enraged about particular photos of things. No way do I favor gun control.Awesome. Way to point the finger back at black America for Mike Leach posting a picture with a noose.
Let me guess, you favor gun control?
I wasn't thinking about sources to prove points in the 1980's, but the kid was hanging from a tree with his thing in his mouth. Hate to get that graphic with you, but I think you have to in certain cases when people act like this kind of thing didn't go on and try to whitewash everything and see 1970 and a few years after through a 2020 lens. Not doubting you, but can you cite a source about this lynching? I'd like to know about the case. And where did you go to school? I'm almost 50 and integration happened earlier here. And from what I understand we were the last state.
What town? What state? Knowing those, it would be easy to Google. I see one in Mobile in 1981, but it was for the killing of a police officer. And no mention of his penis in his mouth so I'm going to assume this is not the one. Give me some background. I'm not just going to take your word.I wasn't thinking about sources to prove points in the 1980's, but the kid was hanging from a tree with his thing in his mouth. Like society, there is a segment of this forum that accepts, indeed, endorses certain types of racism. They wear it as a badge of honor. Being that you are a documented liar, I suppose it should not be an astounding revelation that you exhibit other character flaws like your racism. I know one thing: I've never had a thread deleted because of making racist comments. You have. You should be ashamed, but that requires some measure of human decency.
Nobody said you had to and I take offense to somebody trying to dip all up in my business asking me where I live just to prove some point to make him feel better. You don't know me and I don't play that. I was going to reference the 1981 lynching to you. However, if you think that was the only one, you need to remain in the bubble that you are in. I was a kid back then and I will not besmirch that kid's memory to make some guy over the internet feel better. Many crimes of this type went unreported back then. You think black people in small town, rural South Carolina were going to just report incidents to the police chief back then. Heck, you might be reporting to the Klan member that killed your love one. That is why I just let you talk because, first, I don't think you are 50. Context clues make me think you are much younger and just asking questions to be a smart-***.What town? What state? Knowing those, it would be easy to Google. it was deleted because you started hurling personal insults, not because I pointed out old, white, angry folk are huge part of Trump’s base.
He asked where the lynching took place, for the purpose of researching the event. No, I just put my foot down when I think people are dipping a little bit too much in my business. That is being principled. You can believe what you want to but I took that question as dipping a little too far.He asked where the lynching took place, for the purpose of researching the event. Context clues make me think this is something you read about/saw elsewhere.
You made it up to fit your narrative. I called you on it. I don't know you and don't care what you play. No way a lynching would not make the news in the 80s. Here's the last racial lynching in SC. It happened to someone suspected of killing a cab driver and was perpetrated by cab drivers. In 1947. He actually wasn't even hanged. Lynching doesn't necessarily mean hanging.Nobody said you had to and I take offense to somebody trying to dip all up in my business asking me where I live just to prove some point to make him feel better. Okay believe that if you want to, but I am not putting that kid's name out there for a stranger over the internet. I put the issue out there for some of you dummies to get some historical perspective. However, I am pretty sure that family doesn't want me to just throwing the name or the town out there. You went too far and it's not even that serious. Nobody said people were out there being lynched today, but lynchings didn't stop just because MLK died. As with all things it took time. Ask any black male around 50. Dating a white girl would get you jacked up back then. That is just how it was. Going through circles to try to prove me wrong is just stupid. Even most sensible white men my age would tell you the same. You made it up to fit your narrative. I called you on it. I don't know you and don't care what you play. It was deleted because several people were outraged over your racism. Yeah, personal insults, like calling a racist pig for what he truly is....a racist pig. Yeah, you poor, fragile, put upon little racist. I feel so sorry for pointing out that you're a repulsive, moral sham.
Good night Jethro and stop asking dumb questions.Good night Mr. Smollett.
oh, I don’t mind your personal insults. I consider them a badge of honor coming from you. I just said it was deleted because they had enough of them.
Not to insert myself into the argument, but you actually think the family of a murdered teen would not want people to remain aware of him and the incident? Okay...Okay believe that if you want to, but I am not putting that kid's name out there for a stranger over the internet. Funny, you go to Wikipedia for your sources. Now, I really don't take you seriously and you actually have the belief that the last lynching in SC happened in 1947. There are not enough emoji's for how hard I am laughing at you right now.You made it up to fit your narrative. I called you on it. I don't know you and don't care what you play. Coming from me? Ha! That's rich, that is. An implied insult coming from an overt bigot. I suppose it's good you don't mind my personal insults, because I will keep insulting you personally. Being a liar is one thing, but when you add the racist cherry on top you deserve to get the credit for being a degenerate.
Next time before you tell a lie to win a silly argument, Google the topic first. Do you want to continue or are you willing to end it?Funny, you go to Wikipedia for your sources. ......and do you think it as my place as someone from the outside looking in to just put that out there just for some Yahoo!'s over the internet in a stupid argument that doesn't even matter. No, I don't do that. He and you, if you are in that category, would just have to not believe me. I think it is disrespectful. Not to insert myself into the argument, but you actually think the family of a murdered teen would not want people to remain aware of him and the incident? Okay...
You're stupid. That is all I have to say.Next time before you tell a lie to win a silly argument, Google the topic first. Do you want to continue or are you willing to end it?
