Leggett is gone

So...when can we start the "Bring Back The Nose" campaign?

I mean, if Teddy was serious this morning, I know we can get LOTS of Gamecock Nation behind it. (Not that I expect it to actually happen, but it would be all kinds of awesome fun in the interim.)

Just talked to my cousin who lives in Greenville and a big time Gamecock donor (don't go to the games anymore because of his eye sight). But, he knows a slew of USC and quempsum fans in the Greenville area and he said the word is quempsum is going after the best coach in the nation, regardless of price.

I’ll give credit to Clemson for one thing-making a necessary change.

Who is the best baseball coach in America? No, serious question because I have no idea now that Ray Tanner has retired.

That's what every major D-1 program says when there's a coaching vacancy. Not like they're going to say they're looking for the best deal they can find on an average coach.

Why would the public ever accept a public university stating they are going after anyone regardless of price?
First, I'm sure Freddie was making a joke there, but we've all heard university presidents and ADs state similar things.
The problem is that these schools are public universities that are usually heavily subsidized with state taxes, and are non-revenue generating sports. That's not a great position to take.

Heck, I don't like Clemson spending outrageous money for their football coaches and team. Based on reports, they are blowing crazy money on recruiting efforts which means they aren't being prudent in spending. They are truly overspending on assistant coaches as they had the highest OC and DC in all of college football. That should happen at SoCal where the cost of living is about 10 times higher than Pickens County. Most major colleges with huge football revenues give money to the academic side of the university. At Clemson, they are finding ways to funnel academic funds to the athletic department. That's outrageous and irresponsible.

I'm afraid you are very misinformed if you think CU takes money from academics and transfers it athletic programs. For years, the CU athletic dept handed over millions of dollars every year to academics. The flow has only recently stopped with a change in BOT chair, but I can assure you that the flow has not reversed. In fact Clemson is the only university I know of where students do not pay the athletic dept an activity fee. The funds to pay for coaches, recruiting, etc come exclusively from athletic dept revenue as it does at SC.

Y'all have your fun. Just wanted to remind you of 2 things:

1-In Jack's last year, he took 2 of 3 from the Cocks

2-Now they'll go out & hire a real baseball coach....unlike what we have. Then they'll start beating us regularly.

I think we should bring him on staff.

Nobody knew how to exploit us this year better than Jack. He could right the wrongs.

What are you talking about? Public or private none of the money comes from the school budget.
LOL good grief

He shore gawd filled out them white baseball britches real nice for a middle-aged man. Dogpile for old time sake?

Corbin is a good coach but he's got a big advantage that other coaches don't have. I'm not sure he'd do as well at another school.
LMAO! Corbin is a great coach, can evaluate talent extremely well. Very very good recruiter. Who do you think brought the talent in when he was at ClemTech. Corbin. That is a fact!

His record?? Good God what a stupid ass statement!!!

Seems like your the stupid ass. Tidal is right....he had a excellent record up until 5 years ago and became very arrogant because of it. That arrogance really hurt him in the end.

He never recovered from the 2010 CWS.
