We were punked by Satterfield and Atkins. Sad part is we will be most weeks.
To my knowledge, Atkins hasn’t returned from his most recent health issue. I don’t wish ill on the guy at all, but I’m thinking that problem will take care of itself once the season is over. If Satterfield is retained for next season, it’s going to be very hard to find anything to be excited about.
I think Atkins decided he's too damn old to deal with Marcus's stupid ass idea of an offense. Marcus reminds me of this preacher we had before. A genius with knowledge of his field, but absolutely zero knowledge of how to make what's in his head understandable for others. Either that or he's really just a bad coach getting paid very well to be a failure. Please get a new OC before the spring Beamer
I get that he’s stepped away but at the same time you can’t just pop a new coach in this week and things magically change. This entire pre season has led to the product we have now.
We might can make some incremental improvement by getting back to basics but the scheme for this year has already been laid out in the summer and early fall.
We should pay Adkins son…..he plays with great effort.
I don't think we can wait. Things might get ugly in the next few weeks. This is where Shane earns his paycheck.
This I agree with and coaches sons typically do play to their potential if not above it. I think Coach Adkins is a good guy and wish him a speedy recovery with his health issues. I do think he’s been a loyal coach, it’s just the line is not working to pass or run block and those issues happened before the health issues. Ironically if he doesn’t step aside for health issues it may become a sticky issue to let him go as well.
Satterfield will likely look decent next week against Vandy. Then the sunshine pumpers will come out with the “you still want to fire Satterfield” chatter. Then against Tennessee and Clemson it will be painfully obvious he will need to go. Unsure about Florida. Beamer ball might can do enough to get that win.
To be fair, Schrader is a guy who got overlooked by major programs because of his size. In 3 years at Truman he rushed for 7K yards and 111 TDs. He walked on at Mizzou and beat out every scholarship player for the job. He also doesn't dance around in the backfield, so it's difficult to stop him for a loss.
Truman State hasn't existed with that name for long. 3 of our state schools rebranded about 10 years ago and took directions out of their name. Southeast Missouri State just dropped the direction and became Missouri State. NE Missouri State became Truman. University of Missouri-Rolla became Missouri S&T.
Hey, he is a football player. We need more of those. Much respect to the way he played. Mizzou ate our lunch.
I thought Beamer's post game press conference after MIssouri was the first time he seemed openly frustrated with the offense and not getting the ball to playmakers. Maybe change is on the way.
We're about to find out if Beamer is running a football program or a Summer Camp.
Well he did tell Satterfield emphatically to get the ball to our playmakers and let them make plays. Guess he doesn't take direction well.
O still say that this week is Vandy, and nothing if real consequence will be proven.
But then as I type that, I guess a loss would be a real consequence. I'm just assuming a win though.
