Gamecock Central will once again bring you live coverage today for Day 9 of the The Shane Beamer Camp circuit. Like last week, Thursday and Friday will feature an OL/DL Camp and a team 7-on-7 passing tournament. The OL/DL camp starts bright and early with registration at 7:30 a.m. and runs through 12:30 while the 7-on-7 tournament starts at 9 a.m. and will go to 4 p.m.

** We'll have our eyes on Laurens (S.C.) class of 2022 three-star wide receiver Jayden McGowan as his team is competing in the 7-on-7 tournament. McGowan will essentially be performing to land an offer from the Gamecocks after he broke off a blazing 40-yard-dash at camp earlier this year but pulled up lame at the end with an injured hamstring.

McGowan isn't quite 100 percent at this time but has been cleared for action and is an intriguing slot receiver and one of the fastest players in the state.

** Thursday's OL/DL camp will give Gamecock Central its first opportunity to see Dillon (S.C.) class of 2024 offensive tackle Josiah Thompson in action. The 6-foot-7, 286-pounder already has offers from South Carolina and Kentucky and could be a national-level prospect.

Thompson already took a successful unofficial visit to South Carolina earlier this month and now will get the chance to work with Greg Adkins for the first time.

** Marietta (Ga.) Walton class of 2022 three-star offensive tackle Cason Henry landed an offer from South Carolina in late May and he'll get his first look at the program on Thursday.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder has a nice offer list featuring a combination of SEC and ACC schools among other conferences.

Henry won't be participating in the OL/DL camp but will instead be taking a look at the program on an unofficial visit.

** Another prospect we're intrigued to take a look at is Mauldin (S.C.) class of 2022 safety/linebacker Deuce Caldwell, whose Mauldin team will participate in the 7-on-7 tournament.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Caldwell has drawn praise from local high school coaches for his ability with the biggest question being whether he's a defensive back or linebacker at the next level.

South Carolina has continued to evaluate Caldwell while Clemson has looked at him as a possible linebacker recruit.

But Caldwell has hinted on social media this week that he could be finished with the process and that would seem to point to a likely pledge to North Carolina.

Mauldin is also, of course, home to four-star cornerback Jeadyn Lukus, though it's not apparent if he'll be on the trip and he's seemed focused on places other than South Carolina.

** Gaffney (S.C.) High is participating in Thursday's 7-on-7 and they've got at least two prospects we'll be taking a look at.

Class of 2023 quarterback Grayson Loftis is a big-armed QB with early offers from App State, Georgia, Kentucky, Marshall and West Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect impressed at the Rivals Atlanta Camp this spring and this will be our first time seeing him in a 7-on-7 setting.
