That's not really what it says. It says that they haven't confirmed any wounded.

Law Enforcement have determined that there is no longer an existing
threat within the School of Public Health. The building remains closed
at this time. All surrounding streets are closed.

The investigation is ongoing. Check this page for updates as they occur.

Alert: No Ongoing threat

Per USC twitter account:

@UofSC @CarolinaAlert "There is no longer an existing threat on campus. New School of Public Health/Streets remain closed."

Matter of semantics. If none are confirmed, then no one needs to run around saying fatalities until confirmation is given was my point.

I was in the Swearingen building during class and everyone got emergency reports on our phones that it happened up the hill. So we locked our doors to the room and I heard the doors to Swearingen were locked down. We went on with class as normal but constantly checked online and phones for updates until given the all clear.

My daughter was across the street in class at the law school. Lockdown is over and the report is it was an apparent murder-suicide. Two people dead.

The shooting was a murder-suicide, according to a law enforcement official close to the situation and someone who was evacuated from the building.

I will never understand this. It takes a coward or a very sick individual to do this. If you wanna take your own life then that's between you and God but to take others then your own to avoid the consequences is just plain cowardly. I hope this isn't as bad as is being reported. I have family that are USC students.

Rumor is that a professor fired a girl and she came back and shot him.
The way I heard it was that it was an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend, but I have no official source for that. It's just a story I heard on campus today. Literally no idea if it's true, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's false.

This is what I saw on the internet

Raja Fayad, who was killed, is a graduate director, head of the division of applied physiology and an expert in colon cancer at the urban campus' Arnold School of Public Health. The shootings occurred on the fourth floor of the five-story building along busy Assembly Street, witnesses said.
