Looks like the #1 Seed UCLA is Gone Girl!

Hmm..... Wonder if the UCLA boosters are agitating for firing their coach 2 years out from a national championship. Disgraceful to lose to a middling ACC program in your home regional. Clearly this is a program that has lost focus and is going in the wrong direction.

This kind of drop off should NEVER HAPPEN to a major power. Somebody needs to be held accountable and be fired........ Oh well I could go on and on but I know you weak willed, atheistic, wife beating, liberal, sunshine pumping pansies will refuse to see the truth

Maryland is a Big Ten school....

Bio on UCLA head coaches...

Through 10 seasons as UCLA’s head coach, John Savage has established the Bruins as a consistent national championship contender. Savage helped UCLA reach college baseball’s pinnacle in 2013, as the Bruins won their first-ever NCAA baseball title. Under his guidance, UCLA has advanced to the postseason in seven of the last nine seasons, hosting four consecutive NCAA Regionals from 2010 through 2013.

Your logic is flawed....

Both Maryland and UCLA coaches have years and years of experience as head coach....

Little early in the morning for the sarcasm detector. Just parroting what this board has spewed since we lost to UM

You prove my point Just shows how inept and lazy UCLA coach. He has been there 10 years and should know how to prevent this drop off

You give us statistics, we want results. This bad year definitely represents a downward trend for UCLA baseball, per resident Negative Nellies.

Didn't we lose to that same upstart Maryland team in our home regional last year? Glad we are not the only major power that loses to them. Now, if they will only beat Virginia in the Supers this year, I would love to see them put it to their former ACC brethren.

Question for all those that are screaming for Holbrook to be fired. Your argument is that with a proven head coach these kind of things don't happen, then why did UCLA lose to Maryland at home in a regional? Why did UCLA and Arizona not make the NCAA tournament the year after winning the NC? They have proven head coaches and those things can't happen with a proven head coach, RIGHT? When anyone asks this question though, the response is always "well they have have proven themselves so its OK if they have a bad year". Then you turn back around in the next fire Holbrook thread and state that these things wouldn't happen with a proven head coach. Which is it? I can list quite a few proven college baseball coaches whose teams have had bad seasons after making a few visits to Omaha.

I have never asked for Holbrook to be fired... I like to see a new Hitting Coach and Pitching Coach...

I don't think Jerry Meyers second trip to Columbia has been good compared to his first go around...

I think being a head coach at South Alabama changed his philosophy in pitching...

3rd base, sorry wasn't trying to imply that you were asking for Holbrook to be fired. The questions were more for those same 8-10 on here that thread after thread keep saying with a proven coach these things don't happen.

With Meyers my complaint is he finds a couple guys from the bullpen and rides them sink or swim. This year with Mincey and Fiori there was a lot of sink and he didn't give others a chance until it was to late. As for hitting, it seemed this year our team watched more first pitch strikes than in years past. I know last year the complaints on here were about the team swinging at first pitches. This year we didn't have that aggressive approach, I think with a lot of the good pitchers in the SEC you have to be aggressive. Also our two strike approach didn't seem to change until the A&M series. Don't know if that is on Buscher or the players failing to do what was asked.
