Kind of surprised. I've driven in NY(refused to drive in Manhattan. Screw that. LOL), Seattle, LA, and Atlanta. Outside of Manhattan, my worst experience was Atlanta. Charleston doesn't really surprise me since there aren't a lot of alternate routes. To get from West Ashley to downtown, you pretty much have to drive down 17. On the North Charleston side, Dorchester Rd is a nightmare.
If you did the 285 loops in ATL, yea that is a mess. I-26 going in and out of CHS is a bugger. Seattle's problem reminds me of CHS....just a city built around water with lots of snaky roads that are traffic nightmares. I have a friend who does engineering in CHS and he told me there was nothing they could do. It's the way the roads are laid out. SEATAC does have light rail as does LA.
