We have a guy that is projected to be a high draft pick this spring whom we signed after signing day 4 years ago when he found out on signing day he didn't have a scholly at the school he was committed to....South Carolina. His name is Lorenzo Mauldin. Not sure, but think the big signing day prize that led the Cocks into this spot was the DE that blew up the Mich guy in that bowl game.

Asking guys to grey shirt, or even pulling an offer altogether, due to a class filling is common practice. Unfortunate for some, but business. And in case you haven't noticed, cfb is big business.

Mauldin didn't find out on signing day. He knew it when he committed. He just thought that USC wouldn't hit its number.

Also, Mauldin was not thought to be a qualifier when he committed, so he was offered the greyshirt route.
