What is ESPN doing these days? What a dumb business model.

ESPN is spiraling into irrelevancy.
And I for one couldn't be happier
What a huge difference from Mike and Mike days.
I miss watching sportscenter. Used to just be highlights, and you’d make sure you saw the top 10 plays. Now it’s just terrible.I normally listen to Fox Sports on the way to work, Clay Travis. I did listen to ESPN the other morning and it was 95% politics. What a huge difference from Mike and Mike days.
Stay Woke is their movementScrew ESPN. Once a great place to watch sports. Now, I don't even think they know what their role is.
I was awake my first 43 years and things seemed to be fine. Things are not fine now. Guess we all need to go back to sleep.Stay Woke is their movement
Golic and Wingo have been cancelled for a couple of weeks now.I used to listen to that on the way to work. I really enjoyed it. The replacement show, golic and wingo is terrible. Sound effects, silly noises, terrible "book it" skits. I guess they're trying to catch the attention of ADD riddled teenagers, but I got sick of it.

I think they are going into that direction at least with the on-the-field side. Many of those shows like Detail and team related reality shows are on ESPN+. If you have it, check out Boardroom. That may give you more of what you are looking for. That show deals with the business interests of one player, Kevin Durant. There isn’t really anything for ESPN to show when sports are not on. They used to be able to run sportscenter for 8-10 hours out of the day - but that show became irrelevant with the Internet. You used to have to watch to see highlights, not you’ve got them at your fingertips 24/7 and can go through an entire days worth in 10-15 minutes.
So they’ve searched and searched for content, but there’s really only so much you can say about sports - at least the current contests.
Their original stuff like 30 for 30 is fantastic. I feel like they should do more in depth reporting (not day to day). For example, imagine if they did a whole show that broke down the finances of NFL teams. Where the money comes in, goes out, etc. Then the average NFL fan could have a greater understanding about reports of negotiating a new CBA. I feel like more of a Discovery Channel of sports would be better than just having new shows where people give opinions about sports and rotating in some more losers when that show fails.
Good thing I'm an American fan, Trump is just by far the best QB to lead us to a championship.Looks like he said Trump fans are dumb. Hard to argue there
He sounds bitter and butt hurt over another conference trying to play.
I’ve heard it was mostly because of Trey Wingo, but the reports vary. Some say he didn’t want to do radio anymore, and others say his contract won’t be renewed by ESPN. I think COVID helped Golic Sr. retire. They had been grooming Jr. for a while, who I just can’t take for very long.Really? Didn't even know (obviously). Wonder if its ratings suffered long term or if it was a corona thing.
It would be nice if someone pointed out how well Mike and Mike did for years when they look for a replacement.
I never watch the news anymore. ANY of them. I haven't watched ESPN since the Jordan doc was on. And i watched it on demand.I find myself not watching a lot of things I grew up idolizing. ESPN, MTV, NBA, NFL. The news was a staple in my house growing up.
This is self-evident. As with many people, they have confused themselves with people whose political opinions carry weight - probably to the detriment of the organization's bedrock core activity.Screw ESPN. Once a great place to watch sports. Now, I don't even think they know what their role is.
I’m a Trump fan and I will be happy to debate you on any topic. And I’ll go to head to head with you on a IQ Test anytime.Looks like he said Trump fans are dumb. Hard to argue there

But you're a Trump supporter!
You have to be an easily conned, cultist sheep 😂😂🤣🤣
Nor ordinary citizens. This is nothing new, people mix sports and politics together all the time. People cry about politics on this sports board everyday. This is the world of sports in 2020. Republicans and Democrats can't go a day without spouting political bullshit.

Few entities do real reporting like that you are describing. Journalism as we used to know it is dead. Such reporting requires a truly open mind. There are none on the journalistic horizon. There isn’t really anything for ESPN to show when sports are not on. They are so PC that they are forcing sports fans to turn them off. Hmm, espcn?
He’s not wrong.
