I believed Cal almost lost their baseball program a few years back before they had a run in the NCAA's, which helped the raise money for the program...

Yeah in 2010. I remember seeing former Cal and current MLB players being shocked that the program was losing money while not offering to make donations to help the program continue.

He’s not heading to the “Big Apple” anytime soon to play baseball/football/water polo/track, whatever you pick. Overrated prospect like many others out of high school. That baseball guy was right in this situation: should’ve taken the money instead of going to school.
